Are diadem glamours useless?

So I found a 180 head piece with the pvp gear's appearance. I tried to glamour it on top of my 200 piece but received an error message about glamours can't stack. So is diadem gear useless for glamour purposes, or am I missing something? Even if I get a piece I like I can't copy it over? I was hoping to find some awesome looks from this gear.

you remove the glamour from the diadem piece first

And nah you can't double copy glamour..have you never tried and failed to do that before? It's always been like that.

Yes, other than the best gear in the game this mode is completely useless.

A few willfully ignorant people here it seems like. A modicum of context would reveal he's specifically talking about the glamor aspect being useless.

What OP means (if it's unclear) is that he would like to use the glamour of the Diadem piece on a separate item, but can't because that glamour is specifically tied to the Diadem piece and can't be transferred off of it.

Thank you. Yes I was just complaining about the glamours only. Trust me, I spammed the islands looking to improve my healer critical rate and/or det all day.

Leading up to this patch they stated that the pink gear would have a randomized appearance, a unique feature no other gear shared. I thought this was a clever way to get dye-able versions of gear. Or perhaps let players who missed the older raids get the appearance. After a few runs I surveyed my bounty. Then I realized that my assumed function was somewhat wrong. My first post was generated from confusion on why SE randomized the appearance in the first place. It had to take time and resources to get this unique feature working correctly. So yeah, in practice it seems like a useless feature. Even for 210 gear, which you would actually want to wear, it would be impossible to get a matching set. So you end up glamouring over the gear anyways.

You can't use Diadem as Glamour items because they are already glamoured by themselves.

Imagine you glamoured Royal Vest on your ilvl 190 alexander healer chest piece.

Now you get your esoteric chest piece and you try to glamour it:
-You can't use Alexander Healer chest piece (with Royal Vest glamour) to glamour your esoteric chest piece into Royal Vest. => That's what is happening with Diadem gear
-You can use Royal Vest to glamour your esoteric chest piece.
