SE should have done like in that one MNK cutscene where the player character and whatshisface fight the miqo'te girls and the camera cuts to a big explosion seen from a distance where the fight is going on.

I am pretty sure that was all our reaction as well behind the computer/TV screen.

To be fair we are fighting multiple Warriors of Darkness and each one are equally strong as our character so even if we got into the fight they probably would have made our character lose since we are fighting mutliple people of equal power.

We alone can not defeat multiple WoDs which is why we are overpowered easily.

The Scions are not WoL and can only remain on the defensive against the WoDs since each one are equally as strong as our character.

Most of you seem to have forgotton that there were multiple WoD (means multiple WoL), we cannot fight that on our own.
And our "party members/Scions" don't count because they are not even half as strong as us.

Still, a short instanced fight (dodging AoEs for X amount of time) would have been better than just sitting back and watching the scene unfold (they're also equipped with AF gear and a Relic weapon. We're clearly stronger than them by ten levels and more ilvls, hurr).

If was traveling around with, I don't know, anyone else, I'm sure they would take issue that I, the tank class with a big sword, hung back and acted surprised at fire spells like it was my first Michael Bay movie, while the mages I was traveling with were getting their butts kicked.

idk, Thanchred was holding his own against Derplander. In both offense and defense. He doesn't have the echo, and Y'shtola implies that he no longer has access to magics.

But he also just recently wrestled naked with bears, so Thancred's physical stats are probably just fine. A rogue doesn't use magic anyway. Just means he's not going to be tossing out Yugiri's mudras any time soon.
