This was a great read. Thanks for posting. I got my laughs for the night. I wish I could rate you up.
Piracy
I played ffxi for a very long time and loved it along with FFXIV now. I know everything about what OP has listed, but I fail to see what he is getting at? Is he saying that we should have a special option to make our FFXIV game like FFXI? Obviously it's a joke, but... I guess I just don't understand because he is promoting the list or option as a reward or positive thing, but is blatantly describing some of the things in 11 as very negative. I'm generally pretty good at detecting sarcasm, and if this is sarcasm, I think it was presented poorly. sorry, not trying to be negative, I just don't get it.
But I did want to add one to contribute and show you I'm not trying to derail the thread.
-For the first 3 years of the game's release; ALL mobs will chase you ALL the way to the zone, never despawning, never giving up chase until you are dead or zoned, and causing mass killings on people re-entering zones until the huge train of mobs walks very slowly back to their original spot.
I don't want another FFXI though :X
The only real debate is whether this thread is "made of win" or if it's "winning."![]()
Ha, very funny. Reminded me of some fun and not so fun (but mostly fun) times.
He is listing what are generally considered the worst, most boring, timewasting and painful parts for XI as a joke, the fact that some people are jumping up and saying "OH MAN THAT IS AWESOME" has me worried.I played ffxi for a very long time and loved it along with FFXIV now. for example:
-Basically any important item you need in the game to level up takes a large party to obtain, and the monster only drops 1 of the item, but only sometimes
-Best sword in the game dropped by an NM in a cave that takes 30+ hours to spawn, so your entire linkshell has to stay logged in to that exact cave for 2 weeks camping it and killing it so that a few members can all get the sword

Haha, wow, that was fantastic. funny stuff
Though some of the replies have me worried for the general direction humanity is headed. Being this is pretty much exclusively a gamer demographic, I would hope more people would take it lightly with a sense of humor.
anyways, imaginary rate up!
LOLOL WIN I just can't belive that so many people accualy think this is serious.

-Storyline missions no longer soloable. Requires shouting in Ul'Dah for 4-5 hours a night hoping to find someone on the same mission as you so you can complete it
