A housing idea: Instanced housing - your own personal island in the sky

This idea has already introduced in Wild Star which turns out to be not very popular. Many people didn't like the idea of virtualise the housing area in virtual world. The great Achievement feeling is coming from something limited and it makes no difference in virtualised space. Maybe it is good idea to mix and match; Having a FC island and virtualize own island for their member (sort of like a chamber in current model)

If that's the case couldn't we just have islands as a separate housing area like Lavender beds and so on?

What? It's hugely popular, far more so than it is in FFXIV. You see constant videos and images posted online about people proud of what they've created with the given tools, far more than the "look at this room I decorated" threads on Reddit and such. The great feeling comes from what you create, not e-peen due to it being a limited resource.

A few creations I've seen: Giant Robot, a tree house, a castle and plenty more you could find with Google.

Um... One of the (very few) things Wildstar has been lauded for doing very well, is it's housing.

Aaahahahahahahahaha... WildStar's housing not popular? You have no idea what you're talking about. It is one of the MOST popular features in the entire game. Huge chunks of the playerbase are there literally to just play in housing.

Anyway, if FFXIV ever implemented housing like that, it would basically be enough to ensure I never unsub again. So yeah, that'd be cool. Right now though I'm thinking about dropping my sub again. :/ Too much about this game pisses me off.
