the AoE indicators are hard to see on the second boss of saint mocianne's arboretumGreetings,
The display for area of effects has been changed in Patch 3.1 so that the range of attack is more accurately displayed.
Depending on your playing environment, you may have a different opinion on the color and brightness for the new area of effect display. We would like you to first try various content, and then give us more detailed feedback on when and why the displays are difficult to see so we can relay that information over to the dev. team. Thanks!

If it's gonna be changed, please make it an option to keep the new ones. They are much better for me.Greetings,

I find the aoe line marker is too thin and therefore when it overlaps with things like "Flaming Arrow's aoe circle" you can't see it at all.
If they could make the line more defined or brighter so it can be seen through other orange/red colored attacks I wouldn't have problems with it. And I also echo others. The aoe circles in the final boss of St. Mocianne's are really difficult to see on the floor sometimes.

They're fine now that I turned off all the spell effects. Sad I needed to turn those down though.

This is my qualm with it currently. If you can see the edge of the AoE you're fine, but anything that's not the edge doesn't read as easily from a cursory glance. The AoEs need to be filled in more, rather than having the orange primarily reside along the edge. The pulsing has also become less visible in the 3.1 changes which doesn't help matters as much.
Also still waiting on an option to change the colour of the generic AoEs, particularly with the amount of fights that involve red/orange screen-filling explosions with red/orange in the environment/background/lighting.

Personally for me, I did notice this change, but I was not too bothered by it. I mean a circle is a circle, no matter how you make it. It actually made me better at dodging and making every step count so I can side step right to the edge of the aoe marker. The previous marker was of law quality in terms of the 'edge', it was sorta vague and you can't really tell if your in or out. But now it's clear.
It's only been a couple days since 3.1, jus give it some time like the devs say.

Just about in any 8man group content. For example, in A2S when Jagged Dolls place their circle on the ground, it was already difficult to see at some points because of group attack animations and monster spawns. Now it is even more challenging to see these telegraphs. This is only one example from my experiences, but you can add "any FATE with a decent amount of people" into the mix.
I find it interesting that the "Frontal Line" AOE did not seem to get this treatment. Please in the future give us color, brightness, line width, and animation type options for this. This game is beautiful and basically the current system is borderline forcing some of my friends to turn off other/party player animations just to be able to function in a larger group encounter.
I'd rather be in Zitah
I came to this thread a tad late, so I think I can share some feedback.
While the modern and sleek look is nice, it is very contrary. You removed all the color that made aoes visible. Now I wear fairly strong spectacles and I have a VERY hard time seeing what's an aoe and whats just scenery texture. How I tell I was an aoe, you ask? The fact a chunk of my life just vanished. Bring back the color filling or at least make the pulsing more obvious. My eyes are bad enough. I don't want to damage them more from straining to see a thin red line amongst a million other things.

I hate the new indicators, they are much harder to see :/
Please change them back, or give us an option.
To me this was an example of fixing something that wasn't broken.

Hem... if it is ony graphic rendering component and it does not chang nothing about the mechanic, why don't let up decide among the 3.0 and the 3.1 AoE display type?
Like we decide for Standard / Legacy movement.
Maybe it could even be nice if you could decide the color gradietion of those standard redish AoE, so for some content with a ground with a similar color of the AoE we can just decide for another gradietion, it would be great![]()
