I'm sure we'll get Viera one day, but we'll get it in a way nobody saw coming. Like Lalafells with a rabbit's ears and tail... just to make it different.

Like I said, if the females don't have heel versions of every foot armor in the game, it's not the same. I love the Viera race, but I don't want them to be ruined by XIV's limitations.

Assuming you're reffering to the beast tribes, there are a couple of possibilities that this cannot happen.
First, is that it would be much more difficult to make gear for them. That's why the playable races are so human-like...unless they make a new beast race that's really humanoid in body proportion.
However, (most) of the beast races aren't really in friendly terms with the playable races. So being in their civilization would cause suspicion. Au Ra already gave enough suspicion from Ishgardians that they were mistaken as beasts and were hunted down (See DRK questline, If I recall).

What I like about Viera is that they're a proud race. Not like Elezen that are only proud in their wealth and believe in god/the church.

Viera is proud of the jungle, of being clean of corruption, and being quiet/they're not there to judge others. While Elezen will tell you you're a bad lala or a bad Hyur. Viera will not judge and will speak with actions.

There's no race like them. While Miqo'tes are wild they're not people of nature like Viera are. Miqo'te are a migratory/free race that settles in all the corners of Eorzea and adapts to all the city states. Personality wise they're night and day...Miqo'te are a happy race, Viera is stoic/reflexive race (it acts based on instincts).

Let's not forget that FFXIV steals a lot from FFXII, just like it stole a lot from FFXI (including the cat race).

They're only adding human looking races ever. Get over it. Wouldn't Vanu vanu just be Roegadyns?
See how everything just looks like everything when we start getting picky?

Viera has an entire lore behind them just like Mithra did when they copied them over. It's not just about the appearance. If not for the lore people could claim that female Roegadyn is just a tall Highlander Hyur so why bother making them. Just having male Roegadyn was good enough.
