It would matter in a PvP-based environment, which is not the case in this game. For now you are asking why this child in the courtyard is crying because his comrade gots a red balloon 5 minutes ago and he didn't got one, yet.
Final fantasy community can be that strange time to time![]()

What is the "advantage"? What does having access to one more piece of gear before somebody else give anybody over anyone else? "Oh snap guys... this guy has two pieces of the new i200 set. Lets take him into our 4man dungeon over the other guy who is only in full Esoterics". No.As people who would be able to wake up early or don't have any things they need to attend will be one week ahead, ie, if the patch came up 1 hour earlier then some could theoretically have completed void ark and quest before reset which would put them 1 piece ahead, in a game where it matter to some it is an unfair advantage.
The only "Unfairness" is about people being butthurt that they can't play dress up.
Regardless of whether or not theres opportunity to get that extra bit in to cap before the weeks reset, theres ALWAYS going to be a rush, congestion and 90ks EVERY patch.
So it's server congestion and not because of a perceived advantage according to your link.
That may have been the official reason given, but we all know it's not the actual reason that people were complaining. God forbid somebody gets something sooner than somebody else.
I don't mind someone elsa has extra item, as I will take a leave and become one of the "someone" as well ^^;
But I think it is for the sake of system consistency as every weekly reset provides the same window for players to process.
Therefore if there is one special day that can obtain item for one week, it is a system inconsistency - which is the unfair advantage against another week.
