If you do not have a max level astrologian then it should not stop you from trying the job out til 60 to see if you enjoy it or not. Decide based on if you feel the job fits your playstyle and not if it is going to be the strongest healer in the group.I'd love to agree but they've never held back on these kinds of notes...they only ever hide spoilers and stuff that'd make people rush to the market board to inflate new synthesis materials...
As someone who actually started levelling AST after the announcement that 3.1 would bring more changes I'm definitely very annoyed.
No buffs to us then it seems.
Just Royal Road persisting through loading screens, and Light-speed being clarified to not reduce attack magic potencies..
Which is really weird. Wonder what the trait is meant to do if they are altering the penalty. If the ability itself loses the penalty, then.. what penalty is there to reduce by the trait?
Umm....that's actually true xD So we have a useless trait now, or the trait was also mistranslated in the first place...
It's weird because they said it's a mistake and thus the text change but.... I thought the skill worked as intended? I'm confused.
Max-ether tho <3
If I understand, It doesn't reduce the potency but the final damage. It won't change anything cause the skill worked as intended, just a bad translation.
Anw, I will try astro+whm in A3s in the future. Maybe it will works.

Lightspeed
・Now reduces MP cost of spells by 25%
・Reduction to magic potency now only affects attack magic.
・Duration has been reduced from 15 to 10 seconds.
Directly from the 3.05 patch notes, so it was working as intended at 3.05. Then at 3.07 we got the healing potency buffs and the other changes, so either at 3.07 Lightspeed was meant to be altered further (or reverted.. rather not think about that), or the notes are incorrect.
So yeah, the skill is working as intended according to 3.05 notes, but it is entirely possible it isn't working as intended (or not documented properly) since 3.07, but I would've sworn Lightspeed was still reducing the damage of my abilities whenever I used it. Fairly certain someone would've mentioned the tooltips were incorrect by now.
I think Namo has the right idea regarding Lightspeed. Here's a pic of the various increasing and decreasing damage tooltips in the game.
Most either say "increase damage dealt" or "lower damage dealt" or "increase magic damage dealt" or "lower physical damage dealt", etc.
Lightspeed is the only ability that seems to directly refer to "attack magic potency" so they just might adjusting the tooltip to standardize the description with everything else.
There's also the tiny little note about something AST may like...it's not a big change but:
Looks like a good way to start your card recast if you have a card you don't want to use because it'd eat up royal road./statusoff [status]
→Removes designated beneficial status.
@Ghishlain
dont forget Maim, but it also says "Increases damage dealt"
so yeah most likely it is just a wording change for lightspeed
