As much as I hate to say it (I have very little use for JP worshipers), the above poster is right. Again, there are quite a few people who wouldn't mind learning the Alex Savage series. The trouble is finding people who aren't out-and-out psychos when a mechanic is missed or something goes wrong. All of these "pros" can use all of the CYA talking points they want, but it all boils down to not wanting future competition for "their" shinies.

Ya know, if I get to the point where I'm allowed to teach English as a foreign language in Japan, you can bet I'll be learning Japanese so I can play with the JP peeps (and more importantly, survive out there!), because they sound like the sort of people I would rather play with. Not the NA/EU community (because I daresay the EU community is as bad as the NA community). I think it's something to do with the Japanese culture in general that makes them a lot more supportive to others.

Yeah keep whitewashing everyone who succeeds as evil dick wads out to get you. The Man is holding you down! Fight the powa!

Keep blaming everyone for why you can't succeed instead of figuring out why you aren't suceeding.

People keep glossing over the other half of the reason jps can pug A3S. They come prepared. They know their job. They K OW Their jobs. They know how to communicate. They take responsibility for their weak play and work to fix it. When i200 dps can't beat Bismark dps just what do you is going to happen when they walk up to faust? Thats not the Man holding you down. That's on you as an individual.

Sure the 'pros' can be more patient and helpful, but you gotta meet em halfway. You can't just blame the other side for why we as a region suck. Newsflash: that's exactly why we suck. No one takes responsibilities for their own actions let alone respect the actions of others.

The problem is both ends. It's just as frequent to see people in DF or even PF expecting to do less than-ideal performance and still get through the content. There's absolutely no reason to be failing bismarck DPS checks when the entire party is in eso gear. Truth to be told, I hardly see (c)learning parties anymore, partially due to my realm's raiding scene being rather dead. When it does happen, I see those same people usually back out after 10-15 minutes either due to impatience for each other, incompetience or a combination of both.

Is it really about future competition for "their shines", is it really? Or is that something you are telling yourself to belittle them?

You have all the tools you need to get the job done, the exact same tools the ones who put their nose to the grindstone when the content was new did, actually more, if you consider alternate gear routes and the time to get them. Yet they have to grind it, and learn it, and make videos, and gear up themselves, then they have to give you not only an easy route through, but gear you up, or they are just geeks who want their "shine"?

They go through days and weeks of failures, until they have it memorized, only to have someone who can't even be bothered to learn their role or watch a video, sneak into their farm party, and they are the arseholes?

Also they "wouldn't mind" learning?! Savage is the hardest content in the game right now. It's not "wouldn't mind" territory. You have to want it. This is a big part of the issue I see. "Oh there are casual players who would like to run it." It is the opposite of casual content. It is designed to make you have to make the most out of everyone in the party. NM is for people who want to play "Casually".

And I ask, why do you or anyone who considers themselves "Casual" even want Savage? If not for the shine, what does it offer a "Casual" player? You don't need the gear for anything, you don't need the story, and you don't want to play at that level. YOU want the gear shine, YOU want the titles,YOU want it without putting in the work that it takes.

The excuse for coil was that story was gated behind it. That doesn't work anymore. The only thing you get from it is gear and titles.

You have absolutely no clue about the mindset of a hc player. These ppl are looking for competition, they seek it, they compare themselves to other good players in order to improve further. Ppl've been leaving weak unpopulated servers without any competition and coming to Gilgamesh, Ragnarok and Excalibur just to have motivation to push harder and get better. Who gives a crap about "shinies"? They're gonna become useless as soon as the next tier is out.
But yeah, keep telling yourself this is the reason why the big bad elitists are holding you down and not letting you get the "shinies".

So in the end, nothing is gonna change, right? We'll just be back here in another month or two arguing the same points over and over.

Depends on how good this patch is, we may make it two and a half months.
