Who is composing the newer tracks for the game? I don't recall hearing Nobuo Uematsu working on new pieces. The new Black Shroud music just screams Kumi Tanioka to me...
All of the music used has been composed by Uematsu. The OST is very long. Surprised you haven't heard it on youtube or something.
Entire soundtrack has been in the dats since alpha.
I thought I did on youtube but don't remember listening to the grand company ones on youtube + the modified dynamic version of the instance raid music wasn't on the OST (still same original track with added effects) so was guessing chocobo has another one, I only heard one chocobo one which they used for the rental chocobo.
Good point, actually. You're right that the company music wasn't there before. That will be good to get conformation on who composed that. The rental music is by Uematsu, this we know. The new music... maybe they have more variations of the same tracks done by Uematsu that they have on stock. That's really all I can think of. Personally, if new music is added they should include that in patch notes along with the composer. Not only just to feed my curiosity, but to give them some credit when it's released.I thought I did on youtube but don't remember listening to the grand company ones on youtube + the modified dynamic version of the instance raid music wasn't on the OST (still same original track with added effects) so was guessing chocobo has another one, I only heard one chocobo one which they used for the rental chocobo.
I'm using Rapture right now going through the files and there are other various OGG files scattered between other files, which can go unseen if you dont take the time to go through everything. Going to see what I can find!Good point, actually. You're right that the company music wasn't there before. That will be good to get conformation on who composed that. Kumi Tanokia!? I haven't heard her work since..................................................................... Code Age Commanders!(Ps2 Era) like, I hope it's true.
You haven't heard "Flowers on the Battlefield"?
Wings of the Goddess OST
Live performance
Star Onions
Her stuff resonates with me more than Uematsu's. I hope she does some tracks for XIV.Originally Posted by Malaki7123
The main theme I feel in this piece is forgiveness, specifically, the forgiveness and timelessness of nature. I imagine the battles being waged in Vana 'diel's past as well as our own, and even though so much blood is shed and nature vilified, life still grows from the scars of battle as if saying "let's try to get this right one more time".
This piece is pretty powerful.
