Impossible, it's unheard of anything against the norm working!
I've also ran this with no Archers. It's truly, honestly not that difficult to think of a strategy that works, but once the "standard" is set, nothing can be done against it I'm afraid.
...i really dont think people who played ffxi endgame know how important gear upgrades are to current MMO's since they kept their gear for a long time. They could release an extremely hardcore dungeon and it could take months to get the whole thing on farm status and even longer to gear everyone up. After a couple months of farm status and everyone is geared players are going to scream for new content, thus new content and gear is introduced that only people with the current top gear could possibly finish. Trust me you wont miss your old gear and wont be as attached as you were in FFXI. Plus your old gear will be converted to materia either way. If SE does it right you still wont complete your new set of gear for a while.
Yeah I feel sorry for folks that are in LS's that exclude members based on class. Surly not an LS I would want to be part of.
i know right ive done this run with only 1 con and a bunch of sleep potions. 2 thm are better against bat anyway.

lol how could you have new content that matters and gear that doesn't go obsolete every quarter?
What are they supposed to do, have raids entirely for epic underclothes?
on second thought, I rather like that...
Well until they raise level cap I dont really see new gear being better then current rank 50 dungeon gear, I think that they will be more specialized like some may focus more on defense some on health, some on attack etc. and looks.
