I had some fun Alex runs last night.

Got into A4 as bard with an fc member on their drk. As soon as we load in, before I can even turn WM on (I'd been whm before joining), the other tank pulls without a word. Evidently several people weren't ready because things went very bad very quickly. People are eating too many orbs, one monk is eating every single one, people are running all over with tethers, the healers are dying left and right, I get asked to put mage's ballad up (because the healers keep dying) even though it had already been up for a while (because the healers kept dying)... it was a disaster. We wipe, and I take a look at the chat log...

Turns out the new player message was there. I ask if anyone needs an explanation, and the healer says he's new. So I start explaining, and while I am, the monk just says "heal that's it" and, of course, the tank just pulls without a word or a readycheck. We somehow manage to kill both legs despite the monk dying to orbs over and over, the dragoon dying twice to I don't even know what, and the healers dying a few more times... Then we wipe again.

So we vote abandoned. :/

The leading cause seems to be holding their spear backwards.

A friend (MCH) and I (GLA) went to Haukke manor, it was my first time as tank in this dungeon, we had a DRG and a CNJ with us. I ran to the room with the first key, pulled the mobs there and noticed that my HP dropped horribly fast although the CNJ literally spammed Cure on me. I used all of my CDs but couldn't prevent myself from dying. The CNJ apologized, noticed that their equip wasn't up to date and thus wished for a small break to equip proper gear. I waited for them, after their OK I pulled the next group, but the same thing happened again. So, after respawning again, I had a closer look at my healer's gear and found the level 1 weapon equipped on them. The level 1 one. This thing doesn't have any stats. I asked if they can replace it with something better, but no. Don't know why, but instead of kicking them, I pulled the third group of which my friend took one mob away from me because "this healer can't keep you alive with three mobs beating you". Well, they couldn't even keep me alive with two mobs because they decided to heal both my friend and me simultaneously with Medica - which is even weaker than their 110 HP Cure. After I died for the third time, I finally kicked them, my MCH friend left and then returned as AST to spare us the waiting time for a new healer, and the free DPS slot was filled with a lv60 BLM using their ilvl200 weapon. We finished the dungeon without problems except maybe the fact the BLM always stole aggro from me.

I don't know whether to be vaguely impressed your healer managed to get that far with a lvl1 weapon, or marvel at the sheer insanity someone never bothered upgrading their weapon despite class questlines gifting you plenty.

Decided to run my PLD through Dusk Vigil, wiped on the first pack due to our healer not being 'ready', even though he/she was one step behind me the whole time. I decided to check said Healers lodestone, had every pony, louisiex minion ect. Wonder how much those carries were.

Just finished my leveling daily, it was cutter's cry. Standard group a melee, me the black mage, a dark knight(new to his class), and a 60 healer. The dungeon starts off tank makes a standard pull, waited for the unleash then I started off with my aoe rotation.
FIRST fire 2 and I have all the aggro, after being beaten to death I noticed the dark knight is not in his tanking stance. Fun times! So I let him know its not on. He turns in on, then turns it off before the next pull ( apparently to gain aggro?) I died again. I'm like its cool hes new to this job so I type a paragraph about how to tank with a dark knight.
We are back on track sorta, I kept having to use physic to heal him. Now its the white mages turn for a lesson. I notice she doesn't use regen, so I let her know she wouldn't have to spam cure as much with it on. Her reply its a stupid spell and you can assist me in healing.

The vote abandon button was looking good at this point, but I'm a glutton for punishment.

Some how we make it to the second boss, the dark knight is dead, I don't know how it happened but it did. The ninja is running mad circles around the room throwing daggers at the boss ( this is confusing to me because I am the one with aggro), the healer is following suit just sprinting around the boss. Till I explain, in between physics's and a few thunders, that I am the one holding agro. After an O moment the dark knight gets a rez, only to die to the sand pit. So with pure thunder power and some dagger throws (because the ninja never stops running) we get past the boss.
I decide I need some coffee. While away they have made it to the first sand tele, apparently with a few deaths along the way.

We start on the next round of trash, things are looking up we clear to the final boss no one dies everyone has found a way to work together, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Or so I thought, 5 seconds into chimera the healer has all the agro, the tank is desperately spamming unleash, and the ninja has once again started to throw daggers while doing his best naruto run, around the boss. Soon they are all dead to Ram's voice. Chimera turns to me, death is coming. Wipe one out of the way.

Five wipes later.............

The only thing keeping me in here is pure rage. I will clear this dungeon, the healer has died once again to the ball and dragons voice. Physic and Thunder are my Friends again! The rogue has finally stop running and has decided to join the fight. The dark knight ( who cannot dodge anything) is low on health. I toss a last Thunder and two physics's then die to dragon's voice. The boss is at 4 % , the ninja has pulled LB to his bar and finally uses it. 2% the dark knight is spamming unleash again and before dying leaves the boss with his dot. Last man standing is the ninja. Channeling his inner Naruto he dagger throws the boss to death.....we have cleared the dungeon.

Never again .... I'm swearing of leveling roulette

Reminds me of certain tanks I had the chance to meet in DF. That kind of tank that tell the DPS "If you pull, you tank". I'll respect that policy but I don't like that. I play healer most of the time in DF, so yeah... don't ask me to not heal them when they pull, because I'll punch your nipples. I'll not let the DPS die even if they engaged in, because I am slowing the run down by doing so. If you don't want to do your job because of your policy, you don't have the right to ask me to not do mine. And yes, I had some situations like this in DF. People need to keep their pride in their pocket and play the game.

I run that policy often. However I only really enforce it if a dps is pulling groups when the healer is low on mana or I am low on either tp or mana. I have pulled it out a few times on people who are "attempting to speed up the run" which gets on my nerves more then anything else. I like fast runs as much as the next guy and try to average about 20-25 ish minutes on those I can, such as fractle and neverreap, but I have had times where I jump into a run and my child wakes up or something and I have to slow or some other situation. Doesn't mean I'm not gonna play to the best I can at that moment so you can wait for my pull or you can tank it.
