That woud be a good approach.
But yeah, is unlikely.
It does, though I can't say I'm too pleased about that... There is actually a rock formation near the top of the bubble that you can land on, which should eventually be the third entrance.
Eventually he'll look more dominating, but if anything I think that's bad... Perhaps the developers are trying to build up to that point? IDK, it really doesn't work for me... Alexander just comes across as broken and inept... For Bahamut and Coil, that worked, we'd seen what Bahamut could do long before stepping into Coil, then seeing parts of him created intrigue and that final reveal after T5 was an effective hook.
Alexander has none of that. We haven't seen what Alexander is capable of at all, he is only a threat because we're told he is... There is no real intrigue as you explore Alexander, just Goblins... Heck, it didn't even end with a hook... OK the Illuminati leader left as though this was all just part of his plan, but wasn't that because while we were busy in Alexander, he had his own little raid on Idyllshire? Yeah... When we get out, what do we learn? That the Illuminati were after the Enigma Codex, and that we had part of the Enigma Codex all along! And it's still safe with us! So... Where's the hook? You clear T5, you see characters who should be dead, you find out Bahamut is slowly being revived... Sign me the heck up for Second Coil after that. Alexander? Nothing... As far as the story goes, there is no reason for us to care about Alexander at this point, it wont be until his other arm flops out of the river that we'll have to concern ourselves with him again, and there is no real build up to that event happening... So far the Illuminati summoned him, we shut down the only active part of him, and we have what the Illuminati need to forward their plans... I mean come on SE, the cliffhanger you chose to end on was "We have the thingy they need!", rather than "Oh no! They took the thingy they need from us!"? I wont claim Heavensward is the pinnacle of storytelling, but compared to what you offered with Alexander it might as well be... Did the same team write this? Did you just get an intern or janitor to throw this plot together?
I hope they're just taking this opportunity to actually deliver "raid" content in a better fashion... 2.0 we had Binding Coil, then we had to wait for 2.2 for Second Coil, that wait kinda sucked... If 3.1 gives us some Alexander quests, in which we learn a bit more about the characters, and stuff actually happens building up to 3.2 and the second arm? Perhaps we lose the piece of the Enigma Codex, perhaps the second arm surfaces in 3.1 and the wait for 3.2 is waved away by the characters having to figure out the code again... That might save Alexander for me, the story at least... Not going to hold my breath for that though, and the story is just one problem I have with Alexander...
Honestly, as far as the plot goes, there is zero mystery about Alexander... All the mystery is centered around the characters and Enigma Codex... We know what Alexander is, we know who summoned him and why... Didn't know a thing about Bahamut going into Coil, other than he wreaked the place and vanished, didn't even fully learn who summoned him until Heavensward... The whole plot for Alexander doesn't center around Alexander, the raid itself is never going to answer what few mysteries the plot has offered because the raid doesn't concern those points, we'll just get more "You beat the boss! Now lets leave and dump exposition on you!"... Alexander isn't even an enemy, he is just a location we fight in... It is honestly rather sad... At least make the location fight us, by playing up mechanics like A4s vents and adding puzzles, you know, stuff that could support the narrative that we're fighting inside a beast who wants to resist us...

That would totally work for me <3At this point the one thing that would truly make him a significant threat would be if what we currently see is not actually Alexander, but in effect "Alexander Prime".[...]
...leaving a large smoldering crater, and a scorched goblin mask is found a few feet from the crater's edge. Now we have a threat on our hands.
I cannot help but notice though, that the goblins are taken out of the equation pretty spectaculary...xD
It seems Goblins and danger really just don't go together..
I think there is another way to make Alex seem more dangerous. Seeing him wreak havoc in Sharlayan/Idyllshire/etc. would certainly have a large impact, but it would also mean SE would have to not only redesign Alex, but also half of the region. I kind of understand why they don't want that to happen. But...we players ALL have something to let us experience the terrors of Alex without the trouble of changing the zone - the echo.
Although it's happening more rare lately (not at all in HW, I think? which makes sense though since Hydaelyn's power was sealed away for most of the story), experiencing events of the past has always been pretty normal for all of us. Why not give us a scene where we go back to the past, either when Alex was last active with Mide and her beloved person (...wait, was he active then? not sure right now), or way further back to the time when he was created. Let us see and experience epic destruction there! When we get back afterwards, I guarantee that everyone will probably take him seriously now![]()
I think having the area surrounding Alexander look dead (withered trees, plantlife, etc) to drive home the point that the few seconds of just activated caused the aether around it to be sucked dry
*thinks deeply of the implications*
Just gonna point out that we did get a flashback to Amyric's confrontation with the archbishiop, and that the echo was never sealed n the first place (otherwise Ravana would had a very powerful thrall
Mmm... the other thing I wish they'd do is make Mide less... angsty...
The whole "my scar reminds me of a painful past" thing...
Im a tank, I have a couple scars on my face, and my daily life is more painful than the horrible painful past you keep so fondly reminiscing about... Either add sufficient exposition to make us give a damn (like we do in MSQ), or have her (for lack of a better term) man up and deal with it.
I hope the second to last boss is the leader of the illuminati. I hope the final boss is the primal's final form itself.
I think the person Mide is always talking about (Father?) is the main person to summon and maybe will be one of the bosses for Alexander. Isn't strange that Alexander is referred to "Father"
It might explain why Mide is so angsty because Alexander might controlled/ might be Alexander
Alexander should do this, as soon as possible.
Have the scene play out exactly like when Grigori crushes that stupid zealot in Dragon's Dogma.
