I just don't see why they can't be unisex in their entirety. Female characters get a whole lot more glamors than the males, so honestly it's just unfair at this point. Sure, you can give me all the reasons and of course they're acceptable reasons- I just feel it's unfair. I'd have loved to see some kind of male equivalent for the Minfilia outfit, or a lot of the female-only outfits. I'd much rather have all of them unisex than gender-locked.

Even if they do make them unisex it doesn't really solve the core issue. Many people who play male characters want to have access to more gear suited to male characters first and foremost. Which essentially means that they should be fairly masculine. Whenever we get a thread asking for more male attire it is almost always hijacked by the vocal portion of the community that wants to dress up their men in dresses...which isn't really what a lot of people making these threads want.

It's not a bad thing for female characters to have gender locked equipment. It's only a bad thing when there's not an equal amount of gender locked equipment for male characters. Making male stuff gender neutral just lessens the quality of the design since it isn't specialised and ends up being androgynous. It's not as if there's a shortage of that sort of gear anyway...

Absolutely not. We are not asking for more "masculine-looking" gear, we are asking for more "male-exclusive" gear. The two are not explicitly tied to each other.

I don't see anything wrong with that, to be honest, but I can see where you're coming from and what the need actually is.

I don't see how it will reduce the quality of the design. It's accessible to everyone, and androgyny has always been a staple of the Final Fantasy games. Why stop now? Sure, I love gorgeous armor or dapper suits as much as the next person, but I also like pretty dresses and I love seeing them carried by all genders so it really isn't logical to limit it at all.

I hope not. I wish they'd give me an option so armor wouldn't give my character boob armor. I want to look serious and tough while wearing the new void armor set or the DRG AF1, but both of them show off my character's breasts and it's dumb. Making everything unisex, also put in an option so that the armor flattens the chest consistently, would really be great imho. Plus.. It's going to be annoying when we have 20 sets of "Male only" outfits that look really cool and 20 sets of "Female only" outfits that look sexy/pretty. Unisex outfits for everything satisfies the most people (Except for the crowd that complains about not wanting to see dudes in dresses but.. Lol they're playing a game with lots of dudes in dresses, skirts, and other feminine underwear, just not every skirt/dress/feminine clothing piece).

If the dev team came out with a bunch of "Men only" masculine sets, then I'm sure there would be loads of girl PCs going "But I want that too!" The only solution is make everything unisex. Though, we have loads of suits, leather jackets, suits of armor (Which change from either minor to major things for the girls), which was a lot of the "Masculine" sets I saw in the thread people were referring too. I don't get exactly you could be asking for.

I think it is. I don't want dude characters to be kept from feminine clothes and I don't want to be kept from wearing masculine stuff. It's very much so possible to make just masculine gear that both guys and girls can wear. Like, I don't think the dev team goes "We need to make this unisex, so let's make this masculine set feminine to make it unisex both is design and function!". Similarly, I don't think they look at like some of the feminine sets and go "Well, we need to make this more masculine so it looks unisex".

To be fair, all gear is made with a preset size for breast. The breast slider only matters for your character with nothing on. I think with the way the gear is made in this game, it would be hard to allow that or it's very time consuming. If the clothes/gear worked like in animeish game, then yeah, it should be np.

Yeah, fair point. It would be super time consuming, no doubt. It's definitely on my "Most likely never going to happen but I'd probably squee in delight if SE did it" list.

The bust size slider may only apply to female characters, but I assure you every character has a bust regardless of gender. It simply isn't adjustable on male characters. Even if what you say were true, it would still have no impact on head, leg, hand, and feet gear.

When they added Au Ra race they went and created the necessary model data for every piece of gear that already existed for Au Ra characters. So if that could be done within 18 months, adjusting existing gender specific gear to work on all genders wouldn't be too time consuming.

Gasp, someone entirely aware that they're sharing their own opinion and feelings on the forums?
Without trying to make any drastic or sweeping statements built upon said opinion and feelings?

    I commend you good sir.
