Talking about the actual adventurer's guild the Elezen, Miqo'te, and Hyur are sitting in - as noted in the OP. Since he presumably experienced the echo ( I mean, I don't really know what else that intense of a flashback could possibly be. ), it seems safe to assume that the adventurer's guild in question existed after the fall of Ala Mhigo, Sharlayan, and the destruction of Mor Dhona - and may still be standing.

And it'd be a pretty big hole in the lore if the echo allowed a glimpse into the future, as it has already been stated that the echo works around the concept of reliving the memories of others. Can't relive memories that haven't happened yet.

That teaser is what makes me think it's an abandoned concept. :<
Still would like an answer either way, just to put a nail in the coffin.

It probably is something they decided not to use a long time ago, But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be cool if it was in the game.

..And I agree. The fact that the guild is so large and even houses an aetheryte crystal makes me wonder what the rest of the city must look like. That guild is far more impressive than anything in the current city-states, so the city itself must be leagues above the rest.

I think it's suppose to be limsa or at least thats what the guild leve he set down seemed to say. so it probably was a concept like others here have been saying. I happen to have a guilde leve cell phone charm I got from a grab bag a the square enix store in tokyo, and it had a leve from limsa on it. When I first saw it i thought maybe mor dhona, but then my sis and I looked closer and it looked like it said limsa lominsa on it.

Maybe it was just one of those CGI trailers to say "this game will contain stuff like this" and wasn't based around any places or areas in the game.

Like how when you watch the opening cinematic to a single-player console game then none of the stuff in the cinematic is in the game. (Anime RPG's do this quite a lot)

CG Movies of that quality take a really long time to make. I wouldn't be surprised if it was just an early version of a current city guild that got changed in development and by that time the movie was pretty far along or done. The movie would have been finished before the game so they have something to show people, too.

I wasn't aware that Sharlayan was actualy in ruins. Inaccessable, yes. Knowledge lost to the three current city-states, yes. But I never thought it was in ruins.

I mean, Papalymo, Yda, Thancred and Y'shtola are thought to come from Sharlayan. Could the city actually still be standing? I always held a theory of elected isolation rather than destruction. Which in turn means it could still host said video.

(Would be overjoyed if someone could point me to evidence otherwise.)
