To meet the forum posting requirements I'm typing extra characters to meet the 10 character limit but paying no regard to how much I'm typing and so over-shooting the mark by quite a large margin.

it's like the system yoshi talks about that we complaining about, after 3months new gear, u don't feel like even bothering again with the new content cause it just got boring. close the thread and even if one pops up again u lost half the complainers ...lmao

Not really true either, there are so many other forums that people are discussing and talking about things that do not relate to this game in the least. We are players of this game, we relate to the game so we should be able to talk about stuff outside of the game. We are the common denominator.

This is an "Official Forum Website" To give feedback and suggestions, Other sites are " Fan-sites" While this is kinda a fan-site its still under SE Jurisdiction, They want feedback so they can make the game better, Random posts don't make the game better, and I do see SE point of view of dropping th hammer on stopping these off-topic threads.

Yes but that doesn't apply to "GENERAL DISCUSSION", that branch topic in the forums is meant for players to talk about whatever they wish to talk about. They shouldn't call it General Discussion if they don't want us to talk about other things not related to FFXIV. Should call it "FFXIV DISCUSSION".

I bet the mods get a kick out of closing or locking a thread. Kinda like poking an ant hill with a sledge hammer and watching them rush out and attack everything in sight. Though the last thread had some negative comments about yoshi and SE, not sure why they closed the ffxiv ps3 beta one (assuming it was fake).

Well, I don't know what to tell ya, but its there Forums they can do as they please nothing you can do about it.

But Suggestion for the Devs is to make an " Off-Topic Area" So this will solve this problem, it would seem They want " General Discussion as the "Feedback area"

The one by user234509u8564098340983450987564 was him just insulting yoshi and S.E, perfectly good reason to close it. The PS3 beta one was fake, therefore misleading and good reason to close. The other one though, I dunno, maybe because everyone's comment in it was basically that they didn't like the system Yoshi was talking about it was misinterpreted as players taking a bash at him where really is was more like a debate but where everyone agreed on the same thing.

After a quick check into the Welcome to Forum: General Discussion sticky at the top of the board, it does specifically say "The purpose of this forum is for players to discuss various topics on FINAL FANTASY XIV with other players." With so many sociable folk on these forums though, I hope they add an Off Topic section where we can post non-FFXIV/feedback related content soon.
