Final Fantasy X HD! Where is FF7/8/9 remakes and FFXII HD?

I was excited to see FFX HD in the works and I know there are a lot of fans that was their favorite, but the PSX FF titles were hands down better games than the PS2 FF titles. SE come on give us FF7/8/9 HD remakes for the PS3!! I also wouldn't mind a FFXII HD either. I don't get why you are doing FFX first, should have worked your way up remaking all the FF titles (from like 6 up) in chronological order.

Either way it is good news to see SE is willing to give us HD versions of the PS2 games and hopefully one day they will give us remakes of the PSX FF titles in current gen graphics. This would net SE massive amounts of money because they could sell it at a full $60 price and people would happily pay for it.

For some reason, the last thread regarding this got locked.. I dunno why but I would like to read those locked threads SE!!! Or maybe the OP locked em, but i can't read em, greyed out. I am fearful of posting a thread on how I have been running FFXIV on windows 8 as of late ^^

It is easy to know why, FFX was a fully 3D game. It is much easier to "up-res" 3D models and Textures. FF7,/,9 were 3D characters running around on 2D backgrounds that were pre-rendered. I am sure SE hasn't decided how they would HD those games because there are several ways the could go about it.

I hope they keep the 2d backgrounds, and that they just re-render them.

Personally I want to see the PSX games totally revamped, I would like to see them look like FF13 but with the FF? art styles and not change anything in the game unless they want to add some more side content. You kind of have a point Kerath but since PS3 uses a completely different engine and what not than the PS2 they actually have to rebuild some of the stuff, unless they found a way to convert the game over a lot easier than that, I am guessing they must have because all these other PS2 games getting re-released in HD.
