Isn't collecting all of the rare 5-star legendary cards great? I mean, its so awesome to have that one card you earned first in your deck, while the other 5-star cards just fill a page in a journal somewhere, collecting dust. Oh, but maybe collecting all of the 5-star cards gives you a slightly higher chance of getting one in a random match, assuming your equally large collection of 4-star cards doesn't block you by giving you a 4-star card instead.

What I'm saying is, we don't want it to be easy for players to acquire cards that they can't use.

Wow, brilliant idea just hit me. Let's put gear in the game that requires character level 70 to equip, but we can equip one piece only at level 60. Have fun collecting the full set that you can't wear!

I really don't care. I love to collect things, even if I use them or not.

As a side note, I hated the random rule in FFVIII as well, I remember how annoying was to get that Laguna Card.
