I just hit 40 WVR and it's getting harder for me to HQ

40 is currently my highest crafting class. I just did the class quest and it was much more difficult than usual to complete it. Currently I have CRP CUL GSM and ALC all at least 15. Are there any tips on making life a little easier. My long-term goal is to have all classes 50 before trying to get a 60. Any shorter-term goals I can focus on? WVR is my first priority, and I'm getting anxious to complete it now that the goal is in sight.

On short term on order to gain in efficiency I would highly recommend CUL 37 for steady hand II
Leveling all your class in the same time could be good (shared stuff, no need to buy high comp)

In mid-term try having Weaver 50, because careful synthesis II is the best skill to finish all craft
Then go for Carpenter 50 for your ultimate HQ skill : Byregot blessing

After that it should be a piece of cake to up 50 then 60

As Nekotee mentioned, once you get CRP to 50 and get Byregots Blessing you'll be able to HQ just about everything with ease. Until you get BB the best thing you can do is just make sure your gear and tools are up to date, and try to use HQ mats for those things you absolutely need to HQ (leve turn-ins and your crafter gear).

Keep your gear up to date (HQ, the best stuff for your level). This necessitates keeping several classes up, with the one you want to focus on. GSM and I think LTW both provide gear for crafting that you will want to produce for yourself, to help you as a WVR.

Thank you. This helps me as well...I have everything but GSM, LTH, and CRP up to 50 and it makes sense that I am still having trouble HQ ing items below 50 on classes that are fresh crafter 50s with mid 40 gear. Thank you very much. ^^ Byregot's Blessing

At level 50, Byregot's Blessing should allow you to breeze through all recipes until you reach the harder 3* recipes. I'd consider it more of a mid-term to longer term goal, however, as it isn't actually required until you reach 3* anyways.

In the short term, it's best to get all of the Level 15 cross class skills abilities, which should help with 1* and 2* crafts. Steady Hands 2 should also help a bit, but again, it's non-essential until you work on 3* crafts. The lower level cross class abilities are more important so they should be learned first. One common mistake I've noticed is that a lot of crafters write off rapid synthesis for some reason. However, it isn't any riskier than hasty touch and if used moderately, can knock down a lot of progress especially when combined with ingenuity.

It's also best to keep your gear up to date too including the CP accessories.

I'm not sure what your other resources are in terms of gathering ability. 40 to 50 Weaver is pretty beast mat intensive. Fleece and Snurble tufts. Usually I would suggest HQ as much as possible but in the case of Snurble tufts, getting HQ is very rare. It's possible you can get some using a DoW retainer, I never tried but that might not be an option for you.

As others have said, Keep gear up to date. Also, don't hesitate to rely on older leve quests to level. It's better to be making HQ linen than NQ wool in terms of Leve turn in's. Without cross class, HQ mats to parts is almost mandatory at a point. Truth be told? I'm pretty sure I bought the HQ Patrician I used to turn in for my 50 quest. Prior to that I just spammed until I got HQ but the Patrician was simply above my gear and I cba to fight with it.

I'm just going to chime in with one point. First, get all your level 15 skills. They're too useful not to have, and level 15 is easy to get to. Next, max out weaver first. Weaver offers the skill you will use more than any other skill in crafting - Careful Synthesis II. It costs no CP, can NEVER fail, and adds more progress than your basic synthesis which CAN fail. You'll almost never touch another skill for progress once you have it.

I ended up pressing onward to 50 once I updated a few gear pieces. I saw on my challenge log that I still had a around 15 before I hit the bonus, so I spammed a level 40 leves. in Coerthis and Mor Dohna, while also keeping up with Ixal dailies.. Meanwhile, I have been putting more emphasis on GC turn-ins for my lower jobs. I have 3 jobs under 15 still. I was still able to regularly HQ on the leves with the other cross-class skills I do have.

I'm now working on CUL to 37 while doing GC turn-ins along the way for other jobs.
