Ugh... Why do people coddle tanks so much?

A marauder, level 36, can't hold hate off a Bard's auto attacks so I'm tanking the entire time. They won't kick him because "He's new and I don't wanna kick someone that's new." He constantly ignores advice. Ignored requests to not charge into boss rooms until people explained it, ignored requests not to waste LB on Tank LB.

Seriously. This is why we have bad tanks in endgame. People coddle them so much and treat them like a special little snowflake.

In A3, a PLD fucked up on pulling the boss for some reason, if I had remembered that you need to keep the hand in the middle upon trying to salvage the attempt, we would've survived.

But well, I don't like kicking new players either, I'm quite patient with them, but if they don't accept any advice - or if they enter a dungeon as marauder although they should be a warrior by now - begone, sucker.

Was leveling in Qarn Normal. Had a dark knight who thought it'd be a good idea to pull first two mobs together, we wiped and then he blamed dps, told us to quit ffxiv and then asked to be kicked from group. First time ive ever seen a tank try to pull the first 2 sets of mobs in qarn.
None of us were lvl sync'd either apart from the tank not sure why he thought it'd be possible. drk dont really have a lot of cd at that lvl and a monk and mch doesnt seem like a good combo for aoe stuff down. he pulled again after he complained for 5mins, thought he would just take the first set this time but nope, after we went up he started going down to the 2nd set again

Was probably the worst start to a dungeon run, ive had in a long time. Managed to get someone from linkshell to replace the tank so not all bad.

yeah , warrior get Defiance at lvl 30 so no excuse for not holding agro .....overpower x2 is all thats needed (and 1 flash to save TP) ....

edit : NVM lol , lvl 36 and still MRD instead of WAR /sigh

Ironically, I dealt with something similar on Bray. The tank was also a Marauder, which meant I was massively out DPSing him as a Monk. I ended up forced to tank the dragon and constantly keep popping second wind/bloodbath since the healer wasn't great either. Being new at the time, being thrown in the fire was interesting, xD.

At least the tank asked why he was struggled so much, and asked for advice after we cleared.

Ironically, I dealt with something similar on Bray. The tank was also a Marauder, which meant I was massively out DPSing him as a Monk. I ended up forced to tank the dragon and constantly keep popping second wind/bloodbath since the healer wasn't great either. Being new at the time, being thrown in the fire was interesting, xD.

At least the tank asked why he was struggled so much, and asked for advice after we cleared.

Hell if they actually listen they're a vast improvement over your typical tank. -.-

Had another winner today. A healer and their little Bard friend from Balmung.

We clear the first boss without any problems - but right after, the Bard decides to talk shit, telling me that "Doing adds is a thing."

Funnily enough: I had actual done more DPS to the adds than they did. So I kicked them for talking ****. Their healer friend rage-DC'd and it was the funniest thing in the world to me.

God I love stupid people. And people with the word "Princess" in their name really try to live up to the fake standard, huh?



I don't even deny I'm an asshole sometimes. But I love it when people try to talk **** when they do less DPS to both the both and the add than you did.
