The 860M can run W3 pretty quite nicely, it's just that FFXIV is a rather unoptimized mess. Unless you were referring to nicer textures, in which case you could turn them down.

Yes! Of course a little bigger texture on hairs and cloths are welcome, but right now we need AA. The aliasing is SO bad in places like Uldah and Shroud that it's unberable to look at ground and stairs from some angles.
Tanaka was forced to release 1.0, he told them it wasn't ready but they insisted it was good enough. well all saw how well that went. didn't it result in the original CEO stepping down or something like that?
OH! I didn't know that! This little thing can hold her ground well enough I think... It will not be much longer (maybe some months) until I get my 980M 8GB SLi notebook tough, and I really hope I don't need to change it for the next 5 years. The 860M can run W3 pretty quite nicely, it's just that FFXIV is a rather unoptimized mess. Decent anti aliasing is much more more demanding on systems than higher resolution textures would be, unless you didn't have enough VRAM.
Except that's unneeded resources on an object people will never really look at more than once or up close. Add up several more of those flowerpot shenanigans and you got one big unoptimized mess. No one is blaming the flowerpots only. Said pot is just a leading example.
Guess that's where my fault was, didn't pay enough attention to the steps.

Personally feel the game is in a good place graphically, being not to graphically intensive that you can even play the game very smoothly a lower end pc and laptop/tablet. Sure better textures and would definitely be a great thing to have especially when those textures during cutescenes are especially jarring. But, to be honest I don't I don't see the devs making a great movement to make the game that much better graphically until many more years into the life cycle of the game (if they ever do). Think of Wow and how they implemented a graphics overhaul to keep that game looking more up to speed after many years of going. In the case for FFXIV getting the same treatment seems unlikely due to the far smaller dev size constantly pushing to make new content and fixing the things post releases.
