Yes, it is still influencing performance, that's why I said "cheaper in comparison".
You pretty much hit the nail on the head, it was an example of poor optimization, but now everyone looks to that as an example, as if that somehow gives them better understanding of how these things work, or as if THAT flower pot was the reason... lol...again I wish he would have just said "poorly optimized" which makes sense because the game didn't even seem like it was done. Optimization usually comes later.
How someone decided it was shipping in that state.... was a whole other issue, and in this case the LARGER issue. Point being, less on the guy that did the flower pot and more on who was driving the boat.
Honestly we shouldn't be looking to 1.0 when talking graphics anyway, it is in essence a totally different game and a failure game at that.

Pfft. I already have plans to install 4.0 using 195 floppies
Didn't 1.0 have 13,000 polygon flower pots in Ul'dah? Or was it 3000? Same thing. Pretty sure it had 3 somewhere.
E: Of course it's mentioned in the next post I didn't read.
Yoshi-P is doing his best and is patching Endwalker. Please wait warmly until it is ready.
