Welcome to free market + complete stupidity. You see it all the time with people who undercut by insane amounts. "Oh this has been selling forever for 50k? Ill sell it for 5k because DERP!" The best part about this is people who have no understanding of economics at all will argue that is how supply and demand works.
The trick to making money in FFXIV is basically the same as all other MMOs. Find something that makes a profit that you enjoy making/collecting and if someone screws up the market for that item get out of it and find a new one. I have never been broke in any MMO and I never focus on making money because I don't care about that stuff.
the best part is when someone says something not worth 50k is worth 50k and gets mad when someone evens the market.Welcome to free market + complete stupidity. I actual had a reply from a GM though I wasn't online to sit and talk about the issue, they claimed it could be a form of grifing and half of the items were taken off the board either by the players own will or removed, none of them were purchased. Like I stated in the post I didn't know of this was bad etiquette or a form of harassment and wanted further clarification.
IDK if it's harassment... unless obviously you see the same character selling all the same things you do, WHEN you do, and making it cheaper...that's sorta like market stalking
Am I mad that green ooids no longer cost a hundred thousand each? Sure. Someone undercutted me but also there's more than just my listings now. It just means people wisened up and got their own stuff.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
There is nothing wrong with it. He has the right to sell his property at whatever price. Supply and Demand dictate prices, not what you think they should be. And if you have an issue, buy it up and reprice it. That's called risk. If you truly believe the resource is worth that much than do it. If not stop the QQ.
wow, i swear at this rate, after several years more the word "harassment" will have a totally different meaning...

I'm that person.
I deal in mid-level gear mostly. I've made millions of gil by looking for that level 40 item that someone put up for 50K and making a few HQ versions for 20K. They'll sell overnight. Repeat x40 for gear in every category on the market board, and I'll log back in 16 hours later to half a million gil on my retainers. Since my crafting classes are all approaching or at level 60, I can do this with cheap NQ ingredients and walk away with almost pure profit.
Plus I make gearing up a little easier for newbies. You want people to stop wearing level 20 gear in aurum vale? Don't charge 50K for the level 40 body!
