This would only leve one question. How many Goons named Daenerys can one server have?

...even if we may or may not seek peace with dragonkind the dragoon (or, lets be more specific: the Azur-Dragoon that you are) is THE person who fights against the dragons... you're reciving your power from the eye that has been stolen from a dragoon thousand years ago - and as you will learn during the mainquest: the dragons dont forget that easly. We're seeking peace now, after a 1000 years of battle with YOU, as dragoon, being the most precious symbol for dragon slaughter... but yeah... lets give you a little baby dragoon to show him how to salughter his ancestors!
I dont play dragoon so I dont care much for what it would add to the playstyle... but I do care about the lore and seeing a dragoon aka a dragon-slayer running around with a little wyvern hes teaching to slay dragons feels just... wrong, sorry^^' also those dragons are children! Babies! You dont take a baby to the battle field to fight! They're just learning to hunt for themselves right now!
(But I would totally LOVE a little minion-pet of this damn cutie!)
I dunno this is a fantasy game, i dont want to "ruin lore" and i dont know the future msq but ffs a human fell in love with a dragon and i cant have one as a pet i guess cause of lore conflicts. Theres plenty of ways it could work without damaging lore, the question is whether or not the community of "drgs" want it and all so if yoshida and dev team are interested.
Mayhaps the egg was discovered and raised by you. Great for a drg story quest. You teach it kindness and tenderness of eorzeans. It wants peace as much as you do. Theres a lot that can be done.
Like i said, just the minority i guess.

Well if they are never going to forgive or forget then they deserve to be wiped out. Maybe Thoridan was right....even if we may or may not seek peace with dragonkind the dragoon (or, lets be more specific: the Azur-Dragoon that you are) is THE person who fights against the dragons... you're reciving your power from the eye that has been stolen from a dragoon thousand years ago - and as you will learn during the mainquest: the dragons dont forget that easly. Honestly the "hes killing his own kind" aspect falls flat too. Ive "killed" plenty of my own kind saving eorzea.
I didn't know that. But then, not many do as FFII was never released in the US outside of the rerelease a couple years ago. Still, that's only two prior games out of... the dozen or so that had dragoons. Precedent, but a minority precedent with the standard dragoon being more a dragon slayer or heavy armor DD than a dragon compatriot. XIV's dragoon is a dragon slayer. The original Dragoon in FF2 had a wyvern, and Jump didn't show up until FF3's dragoon. Not that I think FFXIV needs a wyvern pet for dragoons by any means, but there is precedent besides FFXI.Heck, in XIV's Dragoon storyline the iconic initially tries to kill you but sets this animosity aside only because you're going to kill Nidhogg.

Right, and I'm sure you combat training and effectively indoctrinating an infant dragon would go over REALLY well with the few dragons who are kindly inclined towards you. I refuse to believe that you're genuinely obtuse enough to think that this and the story of St. Shiva are the same thing. You already FIND young dragons who learn that not all non-dravanians are bad in Anyx Trine.I dunno this is a fantasy game, i dont want to "ruin lore" and i dont know the future msq but ffs a human fell in love with a dragon and i cant have one as a pet i guess cause of lore conflicts. I'm a level 60 dragoon. I don't want one for lore, I don't want one for gameplay, and I the "you have no excuse" line from before is absurd since SE has no obligation to add wyvern pets or since DRG as it is (a heavy damage class with jumps) is exactly what it is *meant* to be.
In case these things flew over your head, let me help you realize that you are doing those things completely under your own decision-making and you are, shockingly, not a dragon.
Sure, add a pet. Just don't mind the massive drop in your own DPS so that your pet's DPS can keep up.
Not sure if you've listend to the dragons during the storyline at all... they're getting much older than humans therefor they do not forget and forgive that easly because they dont have the same... "feeling" for time as we have. The lifetime of a human is a second for them - would you forgive the murder of your sister two days after she was tricked, killed and eaten? Would you then be like "oh, I've got this nephew here - may you take care of him and probadly hunt her husband down aswell!"
As Azur-Dragoon - thats what you dragoons are, remember? - you are THE symbol of the war between Ishgard and the dragons. Look at Estinien who was crazy about slaying Nidhogg and by that clearly showing that he didnt believe in a peaceful agreement. I could picture men and dragon working and fighting together one day - but in our lifetime...? Please... no. I understand that you would love to have a cute baby-dragon fighting at your side... but have you seen with how much care they're being raised by their loving, peaceful parents? Why should they, after 1000 years of war, just make a full turn and hand over one of their children to someone who used to be their enemy for decades? Someone whos wearing armor and weapons specially made to slay dragons? Not a lovely woman like Shiva who didnt had any attend to harm a dragon...
Let me change it a bit then: You are making him kill his own kind. Granted, we are slaying our own kind aswell... and I dont wanna say "but for a good reason!" and I dont wanna say "but they are one the wrong side!" (because I love FFXIV for not having plain good/bad) - its more that both sides are fighting for their believes and at least I dont feel like a hero after killing some Garleans...
We're about to end a war here... and I certainly dont believe that making dragons fight against dragons is a great way to do it... but that might just be my opinion
(also: If you want to teach the little dragon love and kindness would that mean that you would give up being a warrior? Maybe the dragoon can actually get that company and turn into a hunter-like gathering class! I am not even joking around - I would be fine with that lorewise! You're telling the dragons that you have given up on killing and fighting your own people and instead are going to be a hunter and that you will teach their children to become hunters aswell! Instead of being the flagship in spikey armor you turn into a hunter wearing worn leathery stuff! Instead of fighting great wars, you're fighting with a tiger for your lunch! ...now I would actually like to see that >.<)
