House Dzemael probably might, and the relatives of the Knights Twelve would probably have a bone to pick, an axe to grind and (insert third revenge metaphor here) with Aymeric and the Warrior of Light for killing the knights and Thordian (for they are unlikely to know about their...primal motives for leaving Ishgard)

Oh no, I meant I doubt many players would be against it. Characters can complain all they want, but I think most people would like to see him become king.
