They really did say retainers are on separate servers but still cant add more? So that already ridiculous excuse of not being able to expand it because the "server saves every 15 seconds" was a lie!?
What.

This is why I suggested the glamour catalog working similar to a retainer or aethestician, being accessible from a summoning bell and accessed only when being used. I know that this would be less convenient, but they could still keep the current glamour system in place and add the catalog in separately.
Remember guys SE is a business, what do business' do? they maximize profits......... if they can't maximize profits then you can forget about it.
Not to be negative on the idea but It is a nice Idea that might not ever happen.
EDIT. Or its too much work fro very little gain then they will not do it either, look at FF7 and how long it took for them to realize the potential to be had for the remake, so expect them to be with their heads in the cloud.........(get it hehe)

A glamour catalog needs to track one thing and one thing only for any given piece of gear:
Is this piece of gear known? Yes or no.
It is QUITE LITERALLY a matter of ONE EIGHTH OF A BYTE per database item to determine whether a piece of gear has been recorded in a glamour log. Yes or no. 1 or 0.
And Demogulus, while the objective of a company is to make money, maximizing short-term profit is often the direct road to sacrificing long-term profit or even long-term profitability. There is such a thing as doing stuff to make customers happy and willing to stay.
yes but if you look at the world as it is now the kind of company your thinking of is almost non-existent and is a growing trend especially in the U.S.A glamour catalog needs to track one thing and one thing only for any given piece of gear:
Is this piece of gear known? Yes or no.

I quote ALMOST doesn't mean I said all companies are like that but a good percentage of companies no longer care for their fan-base and only cater to their wallets.
SE isn't a US company.
You would never see a US company stand up and admit they f'ed up, take their product off the shelves for a couple of years for a complete makeover, and then re-release the result.
yes I understand that, I should have said "Multi-National Corporations" they're even worse. Look at EA and how bad they have become, I don't expect the same from SE but I wouldn't put faith in a system that is inherently meant for maximizing profits, that will one day and I say that sarcastically will benefit the people. but I digress I'm not gonna turn this into a political debate on how bad our economy is because of these corporations.

And I don't hear the news about the free 3rd retainer as well. The cake is a lie fosho.
They very plainly said that even if someone had an easy way to implement this... that they would rather offer players more free inventory INSTEAD of this.
They clearly don't see a point in differentiating the two.
Neither do many of us.

Why? As has been explained it would save them resources, the same ones that they tell us time after time that they lack. Unless you mean that they, and you, don't see a point because it would mean less rented reiners. In that case I would understand that statement.
