Glamour Catalog - This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things...

I'd absolutely LOVE a response from SE about this, other than "if we could, we would". Especially since so many people have offered up great suggestions. Not holding my breath though.

I don't think it's as simple as "buy more retainers and pad our pockets trololol!" - they've already said retainers are stored on a separate server and the "upload data every 15 seconds" doesn't apply to them so of course they can afford to expand their inventory. Even though I don't agree with it, their temporary fix to "buy more retainers" is kind of a win-win -- we get extra inventory for the time being, they get some pocket change.


Other people have mentioned other MMOs like GW2 and such that handle inventory differently - but do they funnel character data to the server every 15 seconds? Is there more or less character data to juggle? (I haven't played it so I'm asking honestly). These systems may have been able to handle it because 1) They're not working with older console limitations, and 2) They're not working with old, less-than-optimized code from the 1.0 era, and 3) Their servers probably aren't juggling as many data queries as ours are. Those would be my guesses.

Personally I'd like to see the glamour catalog handled in the same way as the hairstylist except instead of hair types, you have all the armor set pieces you've gotten until now. Bonus points if it tells you which part you're missing and what dungeon it drops from.

I think SE knows how much we want this, but like everything we ask for, they want to make sure they do it right and that takes time. I was shocked that the HW launch went so well. I was expecting massive server issues and it went, for the most part, flawlessly compared to other expansions. So I've got no problem with them taking time to get it right.

I still want that metallic purple dye though.
