it is one of the things that have this feel of actual accomplishment to them to add those actions to have certain effects. i leveled multiple dow/dom classes to get abilities to do this type of farming because you do not just go and kill a mob. i wish there were other mobs that would have incap drops that the dom's could do by themselves though. maybe the elementals or some other type of pure magic mob that the thm/con would have an incap ability to incap a part of them.

these are the types of things that make mmo/rpg games fun to me. it's not actually part of the game, but it is a fun side project that you have to put time and effort into being able to accomplish. i remember 7 staying in the casino there and playing for hrs raising and racing chocobo's. 8 hr after hr of card games. 10 and blitzball for days. those are the types of things i enjoy as a compliment to a game. i do not want those to become so engrossed that it has to be done, but having this kind of side projects will cure alot of boredom when there is nothing else to do.

granted the main story is my main draw, followed by the battle enjoyability, then side projects. it is a nice thing to add and would love to see more main story to draw the gamers back with alot of content updates. until then i do alot of these side quests that make you feel as though something is accomplished in the process other than wow i killed something else.

I like it because it feels like I'm doing something I can be proud of, as silly as that might sound.

For me, I take the horns, make them into horn glue, then take the horn glue to make Bronze Swallowtail arrows (which I can make at my level of carpentry, weaver for the fletchings, etc.).

So I'm kind of gathering my own resources and that makes me feel good, like I'm accomplishing something, making something salable out of basically raw materials across the board. Hunting goats for a specific item that I need to kill them in a special manner to acquire just adds to that.

I'd love to pop a goat in the mouth just for all the times those buggers have followed me around creepy stalker fashion.

This was probably one of the highlights of some of my parties.

I'm not even sure how we actually did it, but it was funny to watch a giant toad look as helpless as a tipped turtle.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

incapacitation is definitely awesome! I'd personally like to see more of them per mob, and maybe some could be a little easier to initiate (ie. not requiring a special attack) But, I mean it's fine the way it is too.

Whenever I think of breaking mob parts Valkyrie Profile 2 and Monster Hunter always come to mind as a standard lol

you can incap just about every mob in some way not all have visual indicators of doing so though. here are a couple things i have learned from trial and error. Incaping the wart clusters on efts/salamanders disables kinetic pulse for that side of the mob. Ie pop the left cluster, no one on the left side gets hit by it at all. Incaping a peists head triggers a defensive move called scale wall it will block all incoming melee attacks but will still take damage from spells and weapon skills the upside is it stops attacking all together during this time.

Incaping a skeletons skull not only adds the coveted skull eyepatch to there loot pool but also disables a tp move in higher ranked skeles called magiked skull, where they literally throw there head at you. all incaps on skells are reset after the move "minions of the pit" is used and it falls apart. Breaking a diremites stinger adds powders used for the alchemists enfeebling potions to there loot pool. breaking the mandibles of ants decreases the potency of trapjaws and adds poisoning potions to its pool (these are pretty potent when thrown at mobs). Incaping the eye of an ahriman seems to add potions and possibly eithers to its loot pool. Breaking the shell of a crap adds the coveted crab shell to there inventory

I love the incapacitation system my only wish is that all mobs had the visual indicators for incaping that some did. there is just something so visceral about breaking off the horns of a mob or just doing so much damage that you actualy see something come off of it.

Sorry I'm not sure if it was asked already but, what are the three attacks needed to break pieces off mobs? Are they the same 3 moves for all the mobs that do have pieces that break off??
