It's only natural to want to promote your big draw, and Exploration has been the big reason for working on company airships this whole time. And it's not like they didn't show off the new dungeons and raid. I think it's expecting the update to be as big as Heavensward with all these disappointments going around.
The content we're getting that isn't a primal is far more interesting and new, imo.
but Knights of the Round is sort of a primal "summon" other games tho "Final Fantasy VII" long scean to use it.
I`m fine with no new Primal fight.
We currently don`t even have a beatmen tribe or faction that could summon a new Primal.
Notice how short the MSQ section was in the trailer? I remember it being much longer in almost all other patch trailers. And if there's a trial that's heavily connected to the MSQ...they're probably keeping it secret for now.
Nidhogg EX anyone?
EDIT: and if the fan theories of Ixion are true...major spoiler and something that they want to hit right in the feels. Showing it off would kill that effect

I think that we are getting a MQ trial...they just don't want to spoil it, the MQ is after all one of the most juicy things about the game :3
That's an assumption, honestly if anyone paid attention to the live letter today it looks like a good chunk of content went into island exploration, easy mode, normal mode, hard mode, 8/16/24 parties, 90 min limit of being inside, not just go from point a to point b but complete objectives you can, explore, learn, discover and see which path best works for you. That's a lot of content and I think until we actually see it in action you can't assume it's "less challenging" content because we don't know how tough the bosses might be.
