Wow, thanks for the in-depth response! <3

First Patch - I get that and you are 100% correct, I just feel that there wasn't enough to keep me interested. I feel there should have been more endgame with the expansion's initial release. Farm 2 dungeons, run Alex, raise more classes up to do the same thing. Obviously this is an abridged version but that's how it feels at the moment, lets hope 3.1 fixes this!

Skill Bloat - Ah, our definitions differ. I would love to have unnecessary skills so that I can simply remove them from my bars, that would clean everything up. But as you stated I too use 95%+ of the skills offered on most classes, many of them being staples in our rotation or simply having situational usage that makes me want to keep them nearby just in case they're needed. If I actually added my PVP skills to my bars too, that'd have me at almost 4 full bars for many classes! That's what I mean by skill bloat. A class's complexity does not have to be determined simply by the number of skills it has. We can change the procs or effects of skills around to make them more difficult, situational, interesting.

Scrips - I'm glad you said this, gathering scrips discouraged me so greatly due to the timers that I didn't even want to bother with the crafting scrips. I'll give them a try for sure now, thanks for the perspective!

DF/PF - Someone else suggested some changes to PF options as well, a good idea. Again, I would like to see PF go cross-server at some point too. I would really like to try that out, I think it would address many of the problems that myself and others have with PF and trying to clear things using it. I see that you and I are on different servers and our descriptions of PF differ greatly. Clearly I should have chosen a different server for progression, but Faerie is home. Grats on your achievements in Alex Savage btw!

ARR Dungeons - There is plenty of exp, but it is confined to FATEs between 50-51. If you're like me and raise all classes it becomes tiring to be forced to level in a specific way, especially if you're burned out on that method. That being said, this is ultimately a matter of personal preference and having options. It's fine that you don't understand, I think we have entirely different leveling preferences and that's okay.

Hunt Logs - The daily hunts did help a lot, and it was a fun new twist on hunting. I'd say I like this addition overall and I can live with it over hunt logs.

Crafters - That's a good tip, I was under the impression that they had to be from the same FC... that makes the requirement all the more stranger to me though. However, this may make it easier for smaller FCs to progress their project when schedules don't line up. Thanks for sharing this!

DF Again - My apologies as I seem to have given the wrong impression here. I'm not trying to put anyone down. I thought it was an obvious exageration and was simply trying to make a point. I do not think that I am some great player, I think of myself in more simple terms. I am good enough to clear any content, given the time and practice. I will not likely ever have a world or server first, because I am not a hardcore player and do not want to invest that amount of time required to achieve that (nothing against those who do, that's amazing!).
Again, when referencing myself I stick with "I'm good enough", as are many other players out there. Are there players who've progressed further, faster, and have greater bragging rights? Of course, and they earned it. I just want to clear content and farm fights that I find rewarding. I'm not competing.
My point was that if any person takes it upon themselves to educate everyone they come across, they will inevitably find themselves investing the overwhelming majority of their time doing exactly that and not finding any personal progression outside of that. While they would be a saint by sociatal standards (and certainly have the respect of many people, myself included), many people are not likely able to take on that level of burden. Many of us pay our monthly fee and want to progress in our own ways, and not be held back. Whether you wish to clear a fight only once simply to see it, or you enjoy farming them for loot, achievements, etc, you should be able to do that.

Patch Notes - That link is very good for reviewing patch notes after or just before going live. However, as they piece the patch together I feel the average player must look into many different sources for that information, instead of simply having a compiled list that is added to as new information is available. This makes it difficult to be on top of future patch notes prior to them being listed in the link you shared. As of now the link you shared has nothing in regards to patch 3.1, which again leaves many players without knowledge of what to expect. Thank you for sharing it though. That is an excellent link for players who take time away from the game and need to catch up on the patches they missed.

    Take care!

Ahh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, when we get previews and such a lot of it is in Japanese only and is out on various websites, though the FFXIV community is actually fairly good about getting translations up and on the forums pretty quickly.

Your opinions are not gonna make a difference at all. What is gonna make a difference is changing your attitude towards newer less skilled players. Help new or struggling players, they keep their sub and recommend the game to others, SE makes more money, which means more/better content. Also, you came across a little condescending but that's just my opinion. No disrespect.

I do have a way of speaking that irritates others from time to time, however, without specific examples it'll be difficult to fix. I feel I've addressed most of the issues with the context of my original post through my responses here thus far. If there's anything else please let me know and I'll explain as best I can! When I am intentionally being condescending or a jerk I take pleasure in making it very very clear so that we can get straight to the heart of the matter. Please believe me when I say that my original post was not meant to offend anyone, even SE. It was simply to invite conversation and the creative process. And don't worry you didn't offend me, I've made a point not to let forum posts 'get my goat' lol. It is difficult to communicate and get our points across sometimes and getting upset about it undoes everything.

That being said, I think my overall attitude is just fine. As stated in several of my posts I'm not against new players at all, we've all been there and hindering them will only hurt ourselves in the long run. My problem is that I now sit at endgame and find it very difficult to progress since most groups I find in both DF or PF seem to have new/poor players in them which effectively halt myself and others from being able to clear fights that are now relatively simple to us. Both the new and veteran players have valid reasons for wanting groups and I'm not trying to diminish either of them. What I do hope to see at some point in the future is a way for both to get to where they want to be in a reasonable amount of time.

Also, in response to your argument that I should support SE I did mention at the start of my original post that that's what I did throughout ARR. I put my faith in SE that our subscriptions and loyalty would be well rewarded when they were able to move forward with their first expansion. This did not happen, in my opinion. That is why I'm venting =/

As far as opinions not making a difference, well, eventually opinions do make a difference because they oft lead to action. History has taught us this much. In this specific case they will most likely amount to nothing that you or the other readers can see, but that doesn't mean that nothing was gained from this post or the conversations that we've had. I would hate to live in a world where I was so afraid to speak because 'my opinion means nothing'. I hope you do not actually feel that way, but were referring just to this particular post. If that is the case, then lets be honest, none of the posts on these forums REALLY go anywhere lol :P

Still, I enjoy talking to people, don't you? Maybe that's all the difference that was needed?

    Take care!

1 + 1/2 crosshotbars for my healer. If I need to use a third hotbar just for healing tools, things are going to get way clunky and hard to acess, losing all the fluidness we have now on acessing CDs and skills. Skill bloat is a problem and SQEX need to look at it ASAP before any skill implementations.

What are you using on drg that takes up 3 full bars?

A bit curious as my drg uses only 2 (controller) and i even slapped on sprint and mantra, which are somewhat pointless.

I did however remove things i never use- such as feint and piercing talon etc.
I also have 2 bars on war and pld.

Aside from ninja or healer tho, i am unable to keep pvp skills on a 2nd hotbar either.
It will be a problem in 4.0 as well, but i feel like right now, every class can fit all of their skills into 2 hotbars excluding pvp skills and entirely useless skills (one ilm punch, repose, fient etc)

Why do threads like this make it into 4 sets of comments? this same thread is a weekly deal a player is un happy big shock and i'm not saying ppl can't or should not post there opinions or stuff that makes them un happy on here. Just why do ppl feed the thread? and keep it around for weeks? i see threads about happy stuff or good ideas that go poof in a day but drama like this sticks around far to long :P end of my rant

Much of my arguement could have been summed up with this. Having reached endgame early I find myself frequently bored. I'm hoping 3.1 will fix this and other things. Thanks for the simple but extremely accurate post!
You know, if you had ranted about "good" players and "bad" players in THIS CONTEXT [endgame] rather than just putting all of the DF into that original #12, you might have actually saved yourself a lot of grief.

Of COURSE you're bored -- you ate almost all the candy and can't buy more until after Halloween.

I..just stopped reading them. I get depressed everytime and I'm starting to think that's the whole point. To make people feel as miserable as they are.
