While we know its coming, this should have been done at the launch of HW. It just does not make sense to not have made XP available from 50 dungeons.
And regardless of the fact that it wasnt available it could have easily been added in a hotfix. I dont think it needed to wait until 3.1

I was actually very put off levelling a second job past 50 because of this and it killed my motivation to play for a long time, entirely because levelling a new class was what I wanted to do. I hate Aurum Vale but I'm muddling through it because I want to level other classes. I dont want to Fate farm either because that just ends up being monotonous and stale after a while and the initial work for little reward in HW areas before they fixed it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Makes perfect sense to me. People would have spammed Lv. 50 dungeons over and over for EXP in the race to get to Lv. 60. They'd have done the HW storyline dungeons once, but not for steady EXP considering how easily certain Lv. 50 dungeons can be speedrun, which would lead to longer queue times for people who still needed the HW dungeons. Just look at The Research Facility. Lv. 60 dungeon that offers nothing but law tomes, which can be easily obtained elsewhere. The result is a severely under-run dungeon with crazy waits for those who still need it.

The very fact that people really want Lv. 50 dungeons to give EXP is proof enough that they'd be doing those over the 51-59 dungeons. So to combat this, don't give that to them right away and promote activity in the newer dungeons for the benefit of people working through the story. Then, once sufficient time has passed, make the adjustment to the 50s.

I'm afraid I do not follow you entirely. On my server, many players went to north thanalan to grind from 50-55 instead of running the 51-55 dungeons. Perhaps your server was different??? Spamming level 50 dungeons is actually significantly slower than farming Northern Thanalan. N. Than remains the fastest place to level till around 55ish.

It's true, I didn't see FATE parties in the PF on my server, but plenty of dungeon runs. FATEs also didn't give great EXP at those levels when HW was first released.

I don't know if I'd say running those dungeons is significantly slower, considering some can be done very fast due to a combination of being overgeared and the playerbase being very experienced from farming them. Also consider that there'd probably be a lot of first room clears, akin to what is done in Aurum Vale, which take only a few minutes and pay great dividends. It would appear, from my perspective, that was the intent on rendering them EXP-free until the upcoming patch.

You're welcome though. There is no need for disrespect among players just because of disagreements.

Why do threads like this make it into 4 sets of comments? this same thread is a weekly deal a player is un happy big shock and i'm not saying ppl can't or should not post there opinions or stuff that makes them un happy on here. Just why do ppl feed the thread? and keep it around for weeks? i see threads about happy stuff or good ideas that go poof in a day but drama like this sticks around far to long :P end of my rant
