Why our avatars cant fly without mount? .-. (we already CAN do in some cutscenes!)

Sad that some/all mounts are given flying capabilities only cause the RP community says it looks "unrealistic" or kills their immersion or what have you.

Even with unrealistic, some are borderline absurdity. At least something like a fat chocobo already has wings (and the fact its a chocobo, only, well...fat which can inherently fly). I personally don't particuarly want to see things like bears, horses (espesically ones with no magical affinity like the wardsteads) magically sprout (organic) wings.




Apply something like that to a gobbule, tortoise or a bear and that's imo breaking the willing suspension of disbelief in even a fantasy setting like FFXIV.

I'm still waiting on an "Enkidu" flying "mount" that is really just a chicken painted green that I grasp by the legs and fly/hover like Gilgamesh.



This is not a joke, I seriously want one simply because of its absurdity and it already has a precedence in the game.

I wish flying wasn't in the game at all, except airship transportation. It kinda cheapens the experience when you can just fly in a straight line everywhere and avoid all the nooks and crannies they made when they created the landscape. I'm sure I'm probably in the minority though.

that was the whole point of the Aether Currents. everyone who flies earned it by exploring the nooks and crannies. i don't need to explore every nook and cranny every time i want to get some hardsilver ore. flying is great.

Only kirn, what about the primal ponies?

I might be wrong, but Im almost positive I heard them say (possibly before heavensward when they were talking about flying mounts) that primal ponies would be able to fly, but they were doing it with Kirin first.

It's likely they have to do some animations so will probably release/update more for other patches.
