If there is an Australian data center, there will most likely only need to be 1 or 2 servers there. We would have such a small pool of players to do Duty Finder with. I enjoy having 7+ servers to help with queues even if 99% of all players I meet only speak Japanese.

There would be a sense of community I guess? As much as I'd love Oceanic servers, the chances of it happening is so slow that it's not even worth dreaming about. I'll just hope they'll fix Mudra properly and not just ignore the issue now that EU players have their servers too.

Sense of community or not, going from 10+ servers in 1 data center to just 1/2 will have a big effect on queues. I already have a sense of community with the friends I have on my server.

It's sad though, there was a lot of hype for FF14:ARR when it started out (the stores were sold out for 2 weeks, even with pre-orders), but more and more people have been quitting because of the ping issues.

You realize the game has been more popular now than ever right? I mean, all the WoW refugees are coming here, and sure some people quit "over the ping" (many unsubbing because of "lack of content" too, but thats none of my business) but the sub loss isn't overtaking the new subs from new players, especially since HW.

It would've been nice if from the beginning they labelled one of the JP servers as international or oceanic, instead of having a fan solution. By the time I became aware that most were on Tonberry, I became too heavily invested in Asura.. house and all. It would sure be nice to do endgame content with other english players sometime :/

As much as this would be nice, there's just not enough players in the Australasian community for this to happen, and would require a lot of time and effort from SE for such a small amount of the playerbase.
