My previous FC leader left the game over a year ago. He is NEVER. COMING. BACK.
To hear all the whining, it sounds like people are perfectly fine with multiple plots being tied up forever, by PEOPLE WHO WILL NEVER PLAY THE GAME AGAIN.
They gota pay their people some how they need to some how make profits. Even when I was in a FC with a house I was all for this because it's stupid to have inactives have them when there's people who want them and plan on staying for the long haul.
Removeing inactive houses is first step to fixing this any way.
No, some of us just happen to think 45 days is way too short. IMO it should be at least twice that duration. To hear all the whining, it sounds like people are perfectly fine with multiple plots being tied up forever, by PEOPLE WHO WILL NEVER PLAY THE GAME AGAIN.
3 months is about the length of one major patch cycle, and someone who doesn't log in for that length of time is much more likely to have called it quits.
45 days though? Blatant cash grab disguised as a "fix" for the housing problem.
Pretty much this. You should be able to safely take a month or two off and have your housing be safe, especially given the length of time between patches and expansions. 90 days is far, far more reasonable and 75 would be fine.
Also, this whole thing doesn't address alts. One account should be able to own one house. Period.
This isn't really intended as a fix for housing space--they never marketed it as such. When they announced it, they mentioned wanting to clear up spaces that were no longer in use (a number of houses belong to dead FCs and the like on my server). 45 days probably is too shot in my mind, I was expecting about 60 days, though I'm glad they're also being sure to send out emails.
45 day timer seems short to me. Perhaps they could have allowed people who sub and can't visit like active military to keep their homes and not have to physically visit them.
Then everyone will claim they're in the military or something and we'll be right back where we started; abandoned plots being squatted by people that are not using the plots.
I feel simply having a active subscription should count as well. For example what if something happens to psn making them unable to visit their house but still able to pay on their account.
