Thumbs up for SE My hero's
Lol ty, but I'm sure a few people would disagree with you

I've got two active characters at the moment, one that does crafting and magic classes, the other does all the DoW classes. Once they abolish physical level and make point allotment automatic, and that the points will automatically re-allocate themselves whenever you change your class though (which keeps your stats the best they can for it's class) I don't see why anyone would bother having more than 1 character. If you can be excellent at everything with just one character, why bother having another?

That being said, I'm still keeping my alt, Ren, because she looks cuter than Konata ^.^

I guess purchasing an extra character slot for an alt will just be a case of cosmetics after 1.19 :3

Yeah that guy must be crazy, everyone knows you are the SE defense teams team captain. You would never utter a bad word about SE, that guy needs to get a clue.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

I did not read the article. Company's hire people everyday worldwide.. So why can't a game development company?
    Your post is just childish.
I don't live in america so i don't need to have perfect english ;-)

Everyone has to admit your English is pretty good for a second language, you even use grammar, something that a lot of people who have English as their first language don't use.

Man OP, I seriously was just adding what I thought was a possibility. We really have no realistic idea how large or small the XIV development team are, or what the working conditions are like. I imagine it isn't re-enforcing coming to work everyday working on a game that might be on a chopping block in the future and has some of the worst review scores for a AAA MMO in a long while. Yes I'd like the game to succeed because I'm a huge fan of SE's previous works but I'm not going to pretend it's all sunshine and butterflies.

These new employees might just be replacements for ones who walked.

Personally, I don't think i could work beneath Yoshida.

"So guys, new rule. Everything you ever did is crap until I showed up. So from now on I want you to oversimplify the crafting system you guys worked so hard on.

Remove collision detection you worked so hard on

    Remove mob behaviours

And finally enlarge all the mobs to ridiculous, unintended proportions. Thanks."

    I would hate him.

I'm not saying I do, I'm just saying I would if I had made an MMO and then he came in and told all my colleagues to scrap half the game "just because".

Ah, about warhammer, what you wrote isn't "fact", it's just a rumor posted by an alleged "fired employee", who (if he even is an employee and not just a random troll inventing stuff) has every interest in shedding a bad light upon his former employers, and absolutely no evidence to back up what he said.

Not sure about your definition of "fact", but it's quite far from mine.
Have you seen the current state of Warhammer?

English is not my primary language as well, but you have missed the quite blatant fact that I've said that them hiring more people is a GOOD thing, because it means that they're confident enough on the game's potential to actually spend more money on it (more employees = more money spent).

@Darkshade: there's no need for any butterflies to know the average working conditions in Japan, and that SE is no exception or special case.

fact my favorite post on that site came from a dev from gw, he states that the big guys up top told them, who cares what the customers want, we will make it how we want and they will like it. in reality this is always in my head in these forums cause in reality i don't think any of the shirades of voting and posting what we want or don't want will make a big diff. specially not in a game that is going correctly and not trying to take whatever money they can from whoever they can.
GW (I'm assuming Games Workshop here since you mentioned Warhammer) is an extreme example. They are a failing company in recent times and many people have left them for brighter futures. Prominent modelers left to work with Privateer Press, writers and designers have left for Blizzard, and others have left for FFG.

That attitude of GW (the we do what we want, charge what we want, they buy it) has sent them in fiscal turmoil lately. They became a giant in the 80's and early 90's, everyone was buying anything if it had that GW logo on it. They in turn got extremely greedy. Which then in the late 90s turned into extreme pretension. Essentially, "if you cant afford our games, we don't want you in our games" became their moto. And people loved that. The Warhammer games then became cult like during that time.

Now they are in so much trouble. The have priced themselves so out of the market of table top gaming that its not even funny anymore. If they lower prices, they piss off all the people whom have invested thousands in the game, if they keep prices high they lose the growth effect, if they do nothing they just stagnate with what they have now. Warhammer models and such are banned from being sold online by GW, if you didn't know (http://www.thewarstore.com/TheGWInte...ersPolicy.html) . The reason - they want uniform prices so no one can sell them for really cheap, again to keep their "economic appearance" of a high end luxury toy. And boy is it totally retarded in recent years.

They are feeling the effects so bad thats why they started licensing out the name and lore to anyone who asks. If you ask a bum on the street "Hey tell me about GW" the only thing they definitely will know is "No one touches their lore and lives!". They have always been extremely protective of their "babies". Now though? They have licensed it out to movies companies, Mythic for the fantasy MMO, THQ for RTS games, first person shooters, and now third person action, Blood Bowl to the small and horribly unqualified Cynide Software, etc. etc. Their company beliefs are slowly changing. It's just, sadly (as I LOVEEEE their lore they developed for 40k and WHF), its too late.
