Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?

I'm with you that far.I'm just wondering more about the details of the city and its demise, and also where this information comes from. Is this from one of Fernehalwes' lorebombs or is it mentioned ingame other than that one line in the Shades of Sil'dih quest? There's also a screenshot on the official FF wiki of a "mirage" of Sil'dih - I'm assuming this is from 1.0?

A screenshot of the void ark reveales 2 statues of highlanders, so Mhach may have some Ala Mhidgan decendants?
Just pure speculation
You know... I had a thought about that... Primarily that they look kinda like Phlegethon... I think it's the hair...
Now, that might seem crazy, but... The Allag were into Void research, and World of Darkness did have some clones knocking about... Possibly some connection there?

We dont know that. The devastation of the allag empire was big, we dont know of any civilisations on the times of the 4 astral era. Maybe the Mhach got some inspiration on the allags, specialy in their ways to control voidsents.
I was just pointing out that based that there is an statu of 2 highlander mages, maybe the tribes that eventually formed Ala Mhigo could have Mhach ancestors, not just Bela'dia.
Not saing im right, just saing that could be possible. Lalafells were smart ( and evil lol ) and Highlanders were strong, a combination of both could be scary. Also that the Capital of Mhach was on the northwest or east of Mor dhona? Not so far from where Ala mhigo is now. Maybe on the witch hunt on the 6 umbral era, some of them run to the dessert and orther to the mountains.

Maybe its me but with all those coffin motifs, but assuming that Diabolos isn't a void sent. Could it be similar to how Bahamut was kept around in the moon? The general idea being that they would be able to sleep until the flood ended with various void sent and arcana sustaining the place. Except that whomever it was that was suppose to wake them up didn't or wasn't around. Given the state of being a Tonberry, its possible the early Amalja'a or something on par was supposed to summon them back. Blm lore has quests given out by an Amalja'a to close voids, defeat void sent, and extract wizard Af out of them. Given the Ixali whose ancestor went to live with Amaljaa to learn black magic. I can assume the koblolds story was similar. It looks like there was a change in attitude toward the void and possibly the void ark. I'm hoping they will explain if there was a faction split of some sort during the flood or if they were tricked into going with the void ark.

While the statues to bear a passing resemblance to something like a blend between Phlegethon and a Highlander, I reeeeeeeeally hope Allag doesn't have anything to do with the Void Ark.
Quite tired of them being responsible for everything, and I know there's a massive fallout from Azys Lla yet to come...

Confirmed?
If Void Ark isn't Mhach then at the very least Mhach will be mentioned in 3.1
