I dont get why people care for relics <,<
Its just another extreme timewasting grind for a very little result in the end! >.>
You can play 2-3 brand new games instead!
Because it gives me a reason to log in for more than 30 minutes a day for the mini-cactpot and DREX? What other games exactly? There's not a lot that peaks my interest, nor is there a lot of games that are coming out that are particularly big titles. Battlefront 3 seems to be a huge disappointment, Fallout 4 will come out but I'd assume it would get boring after a month, and I'll have finished Mad Max and the Witcher 3 expansion by the 10th of November unfortunately (loving the expansion though).
It's just a thing to waste time on when there's nothing else, I get on Skype/Discord and talk to friends while mindlessly grinding away, otherwise I'd just be talking without grinding which is just about the same.
It depends on how they do it this time around. The original relic quest was great until it turned into the giant grind fest it is now.
Yeah, please unveil the huge timesinks that are only marginally better than tome weapons at best with each patch. I'm sure people will totally not hate them this time.

There aren't any games at the moment where I could put a lot of time into it, without it being extremely boring... FFXIV can be repetitive (especially right now), but at least I have others to play with, and it's the combination of good friends in the game + content to do, that gets me to play the game.
I bought MGS5 for example, and it was good IMO, but even though that game was longer than most others in that genre, it didn't last very long.
I can understand that it might not be the most fun thing if you don't have much time to play the game, but I find it kinda fun racing towards that relic, and being one of the first ones to get it. Not necessarily one of the first ones on the server or anything, but at least compared to the people around you
More on the point of this thread though... Why make this thread now? They have showed some pictures now, sure, but the live letter is on the 25th... Which is 9 days away. Can't you just wait for that? If they show them earlier, that's just a bonus.
I'm afraid to see the MNK relics though, 95% of MNKs weapons look shit.
Just because some people don't like the Relic quests, doesn't mean everyone does... I can't wait for them, and I know a lot of other players that feel the same way.
If you don't like it, don't do it. Like you said, they're not needed for anything.

Well yeah, no sh**. Never said I was planning on it. I don't have to partake to comment on how pointless they are though.
Can't wait to suffer with the atma revenge 3.0 and run dusk vigil 50 times for a drop. I saved some gils too just in case i have to buy a 500k Materia.

I lost all my hope in the gear designing of FFXIV already. not gonna expect anything just to get myself disappointed.
