Anyone able to potentially direct me to a question in the Questions for the Item Team Lead thread (this would be the time to ask it) where someone brought up why they have been slacking on making male-only equipment and dishing out unisex/female-only gear like there's no tomorrow?

If there isn't, are there any volunteers to ask it? I will be slapping on a giant "like" to any questions on the matter.

I have seen quite a few but that's a very good suggestion, why don't we all get behind one well-phrased question which cites some of the facts in that thread and help it get more attention.

I'd be willing to begin this, if no one else has. I'll wait a bit to see if I, or another here can find something begun already. If not, then I shall start the topic for us.

I've seen someone with a signature that has a quote about them planning on adding more balance to glamours. Maybe I'll look for that signature to begin with the search.

I skimmed through all 31 pages of the Ask the Item Team Lead thread. Closest thing even resembling a gender-specific gear imbalance was something about some gear looking like drag queen clothes or something, I dunno...

...So, be my guest and bring up the issue in that thread. Hopefully it'll get the "likes" and they might even be brave enough to answer it...

This may not be a issue of morals, religion or severe nausea for you, but there are people in the world, and in this very game, who would get very upset at the company if player cross dressing was made possible.

It's already possible for women to wear male-style clothing, and for men to wear skirts, robes, and stuff-that-could-be-seen-as-dresses/skirts/robes. Enough that cross-dressing is easily possible. Only people who think skirts are kilts and robes are 'very different from dresses' even think the current situation prevents it. It just locks the cuter outfits.

You can have the same number of outfits, nothing wrong with that. but then ask for more male outfits, not to fit female outfits on males..

The problem lies in the fact that they DO come out with male/female gear sets on the same theme, and then they go and say "Oh hey girls can wear the male gear but guys can't touch the female gear."

The reason to simply allow men to wear dresses is that these discrepancies already exist and if they were to make ANOTHER male set on the same themes, the likelihood that girls would want to wear it and them making it unisex again is very high - so just make those female only sets unisex because there is already NO valid argument for gender-locking gear away from females. All the swim gear being genderlocked particularly ♀ TANGA vs ♂ BRIEFS or ♀ PAREO vs ♂ MARO is completely ridiculous when it's easy to make the small adjustment for one gear to appear differently on male/female models as is exhibited my multiple gears in the game. If they don't stick to their guns and keep the male gear they design as gender-locked, the female gear should just become unisex too. I personally actually played with trying to make a more "masculine" version of existing female locked gear, but I still wanted to see the new designs on female characters.

Square Enix needs to stop the inequality. If they don't keep their gendered gear sets equal and equivalent because they want to let girls wear what they design for boys the boys should be able to wear the female attire as well.

Maybe note that the gap is gradually widening with the amount of female/unisex equipment growing over time and still little sign of any balancing going on, and link to Terrini's post (linked above yours) with the previous breakdown? I don't think some people realise how many items are affected because they're too busy writing apocalyptic fanfiction about how men wearing skirts will bring about the end of FFXIV as we know it.

Maybe also summarise the question quickly at the beginning or end to catch their eye: Can we expect to see players with male characters having access to the same number of glamour options as those with female characters in the near future?
