While I do not agree, I'll have to remind you, OP, that crappy heals will be crappy even with Cleric Stance, because of the -20% healing potency.
As a SCH it happened that CS didn't got off and I ended up spamming heals, wondering why the tank was dying.
So no, CS won't help anyone.

I gave up on expecting tank/healer balance after SB.

If your healer DCs and you're a WAR you can keep yourself alive, just don't be hit by AOE .

As a summoner as my main class I wouldn't want this. We're a dps class, not a healing class. Having to switch stances between a healer dying would just cause dps to lower and you'll probably wipe anyway. I've personally saved countless fights just by using a swiftcast res and then the fight is fine. People need to learn their classes. Wipes will happen though, you just have to work through it or find a new healer if it's that much of a problem

The whole notion of non healers "saving" healers and others with their own heals would be a massive disaster in Alexander and other fights where DPS checks are heavy handed. The minute you try to use some pitiful healing in those fights, you've already lost.

I'd really just like Reraise one day (for select jobs only, and with restrictions). I came from FFXI where my group liked to push ourselves low manning everything, and not being able to try to salvage a situation with tools like Reraise/Araise detracts a little from the fun.

While having a more useful Physick would certainly be nice for some content I really don't want my BLM or SMN to be expected to backup heal in group content. I don't mind whether healers want to stick to healing or DPS too - whatever they're comfortable with at the time - but it really irritates me when I see damage dealers stopping what they're doing to fiddle around casting 200 HP cures which ultimately achieve nothing and I almost strangled one of my dear friends over this once back in XI. It's not helpful! Giving damage dealers Cleric Stance would only further complicate things and detract from the core design of role-based play.

You may have misinterpeted. I was not referring to DRKs Living Dead. Earlier they were talking about, along with making a bunch of people mini heals, giving PLDs battle raise.

In ARR I was a back up healer as a BLM. It wasn't hard to do, but it was often very short lived. You can't spam heal through big hits. In heavensward I've actually been more commonly found playing as BLM tank. I tank things that my tank doesn't want to pull off of me, I've tanked bosses, and Boss class fates until the party could recover a few times now too. I have tried both sub class styles on BLM and I don't know that I like either of them. If SE wants to grant us the choice of a sub-role then I'm fine with that, but I feel like this wouldn't do the community any good. It would just be another case of "What's the best? Okay use that".

It would seem most people in this thread are content with very set job roles of Tank, DPS or Healer (which is fine - we all like what we like).

With that said, support abilities can be awesome. Support jobs just as much, but this game doesn't really have room for support jobs with how it is currently designed.

I would much rather have people be able to band together to save a run vs. it ending as a wipe when the healers die. I personally always have great fun in fights that have turned to crap, but somehow we manage to win by the skin of our teeth.

Now does that mean that it would be expected for a DD to be a back-up healer, or a tank to be the co-raiser? Of course not, but it's nice to have a few extra tricks up your sleeve in those "Oh shit!" moments.
