Looking at it practically, the devs would need to adjust a bunch of costumes to fit all the different male character models, yet the number of people using those costumes would probably be relatively small... so there are probably more constructive things to put their time into.

Such as.... adding beard options for female characters!

Most time there is a male and female version. It is just that female characters can wear both versions.

Gotta admit, I lol'd. I "could" see whiskers on female miqo'te, though.

Joking aside - yes, it is a double standard carried over from real life. Give it another hundred years or two, maybe society will be advanced enough by then, if we don't accidentally stumble into regression again. Many things taken for granted nowadays were pretty much taboo a century ago.

So.... you mean it's more appropriate to discriminate due to gender than due to sexuality? Neither is okay. In my opinion, wanting to wear skirts isn't neccessarily transvestitism, same as wanting to wear trousers as a woman isn't neccessarily transvestitism. It can be a simple matter of liking the aesthetics or (IRL) because it's comfortable, or any other reason you like.
The idea that it's okay for a woman to wear trousers but not okay for a man to wear skirts is based on gender discrimination. Stemming from the notion that 'female' is weaker than 'male' and that the male is something to strive for, of course, but still gender discrimination.

(And yes, I know you didn't say that, but it's what can be read from what you said ^^; )

*cough* Nothing as such, but... I have a FemRoe alt, and when I tried on the Valentoine top... she looks like a bad crossdresser O.o I'll see if I can remember to get a screenshot and post it. (Of course, that I chose to give her 100 muscle tone and lower-than-50 bust size due to realism doesn't really help...)

I don't think it looks too bad. Mind you I'm max muscle, bust, and height. The only dress I think looks bad on FemRoes is the bridesmaid one. The thing is though I think that bridesmaid dress looks horrible on everyone.

I think the point people are trying to make is that, if you sum up all the individual articles of clothing that have "♀ only" on them and sum up all the individual articles of clothing that have "♂ only" on them, you'll find the results highly skewed towards the female gender.
