gender equality and social disorder

So I wanna ask a question: why is it in this game female characters can wear men's clothing such as the best man's suit, but men can not wear the bridesmaid's dresses and other female-only outfits? I feel this is a double standard in a sense. I mean, I may get flack for this but I feel it's a two-way street; SE allows gay marriage in the game, why not cross dressing since women can already do it. Why can't men?

editk so im changing my original post slightly since people are taking what i wanted and twisting it in to some sort of crusade any way all i really want is for outfit sets to be made fore both genders just with different looks for men and women i don't want them to go and make male only outfits or keep with current theam of female exclusive sets

Because males crossdressing isn't the standard in real life, nor is it going to be a thing anytime soon. It's heavily looked down upon in a lot of places. It's considered to be a joke, like one would dare their friend to go out in public wearing a dress to embarrass them and take photos. That's likely why.

Also what does this have to do with a social disorder?

Looking at it practically, the devs would need to adjust a bunch of costumes to fit all the different male character models, yet the number of people using those costumes would probably be relatively small... so there are probably more constructive things to put their time into.

Such as.... adding beard options for female characters!

They should make male versions of gear that is currently female gender locked. Like how Coatee sets look different based on weather a male or female equips it. Wedding gowns and spring dresses could look more like frilly trench coats on men, then they could equip a long skirt making it into a dress.

my biggest thing is i know a lot of guys on my server that like being male characters but all the new outfits are female and i think there should be both male and female variants

Gotta admit, I lol'd. I "could" see whiskers on female miqo'te, though.

Joking aside - yes, it is a double standard carried over from real life. Give it another hundred years or two, maybe society will be advanced enough by then, if we don't accidentally stumble into regression again. Many things taken for granted nowadays were pretty much taboo a century ago.
