Alexander savage is kinda DPS check , even healers have to do their maximum damage when raid . Why team should have the PLD which does 50% dps compared to WAR ?

Well, WARs got excluded from most (if not all) 2nd coil progression groups for T8 and T9, for some groups even T7 where it was a "consensus" that PLD were the best tank choice, and WAR was better being replaced by any other DPS for pretty much the entire 2nd coil...

I don't ever recall seeing WARs or PLDs complaining about this back then. Search the forums and prove me wrong, please.

are we playing the same game? WARs were never excluded during second coil. Unless you are talking about the groups that solo tanked those fights, in which case their dps was just bad. Most groups clearing the fights early on were using the standard comp of pld+war. the only time wars were excluded was prebuffs 2.0

duh. PLDs are nowhere near 50% of WAR's damage. More like 85% without storm's eye, 90% with it.

I think they are refering to the solo tank strats. Which were the norm during normal groups progression because whatever the reason was (not talking about world first competition). WARs were required to have a dps job leveled AND geared to enter most statics.

But yeah, the only time WARs were really excluded from anything was 2.0 (even Titan HM was a no-go zone ._. solo tank my ***, people couldn't get past heart)


as for PLDs, there are enough threads talking about that, no need for new ones constantly.

Sorry, I know I'm just echoing the others, but.. huh? Nearly every T8 group wanted a WAR to solo tank it due to the increased tank damage. The hardest hitting part of that fight was when you had to tank the Dread + Avatar, but all your CDs are available for that...

T9 was a bit different, largely because everyone was still in the "play it safe" mindset for the most difficult fight in the game and thus wanted PLD MT, but WAR could in fact solo tank it with ease (and give you more overall DPS).

^ This. I solo tanked T8 and T9 as a WAR back in the SCoB days. But the fights were much more enjoyable with 2 tanks, it just needed good DPS which most people didn't have and thus needed the 5th DPS instead of the 2nd tank.

Previous imbalance was and never will be a valid justification for imbalance now, there is no argument for having imbalance.
Also, it was only patch 2.0, vs WAR>PLD for the entirety 1.x, much longer than 2.0. PLD is the one with the worse history.

I'm gonna take this with a pinch of salt since OP's info is based on what? Just a potency of ROH and RA not generating Aggro?

PLD's can hold Aggro fine, My Statics PLD can hold Aggro just fine, admitted it's Aggro generation is lower than DRK/WAR but it's higher enough to maintain it from DPS and healers.

Even when I go into Ravana EX as a PLD holding Aggro has never been an issue for me. Is this a PLD in your static? What's he's set up? If he's stacking VIT gear on his left side then he should consider equipping more slaying gear to boost his DPS and Aggro generation.

Also if your PLD is using RA more than ROH then its your PLDs fault for losing Aggro.
