Yoshida: There are still some OS-specific bugs which are occurring. These are affecting other games as well, so we've sent an inquiry to the OS production team, but we're still waiting on a reply. Additionally, we've seen performance variations with drivers depending on the graphics card, so we're also working to see if the drivers can be adjusted.

How much longer do you think will be needed?

Yoshida: We regret that the initial check period was insufficient, so rather than setting a new deadline for ourselves, we want to make sure we thoroughly check and verify the performance. So it might still be another month or so. It's a time-consuming process, so please forgive me.

So it looks like a couple more months at the very least... Might not even get a rerelease til Christmas at this rate. But if they could fix some bugs and help the driver issues, sometimes it seems like that would be enough. There are still a couple of people in my family who want a mac version since they won't run Windows or bootcamp their Macs.

really hope to hear about this in the next letter. I'm running via bootcamp, but it is no my preference, and id love to see if i could get a better or at least similar performance from the OSX side

If you have the mac client it still works, about as well or poorly as it ever did. Full screen still looks gorgeous on a 27 inch iMac, until it does those weird graphic artifacts all over the screen. Seems to work best in Windowed mode. I've played for a couple of hours that way. Would be nice to hear something/anything though on the plan for this orphaned client.
