New 3.1 Hairstyles!

Please don't turn this into yet another "Why didn't this one the hairstyle competition?" thread.

I wasn't around for the contest, so I don't know what all was submitted, but Tisharu does have a point. None of these, aside from the Afro, look that unique. More options are always good, but it would have been nice for something completely different.

I really don't understand what people expect with hairstyles, the female ones don't look like anything we have in game as far as I'm aware, and the Male Miqo'te hairstyle looks completely original in this game, but a little dated in terms of real hairstyles. Anyway, what do you guys expect really? Extravagant and odd hairstyles with half the head shaved and the other spiked up to look like an anime character? I genuinely want to know what kind of hairstyles you guys want in the game, unless not personally liking it = not unique.

Are these available for all races?



They always would. Remember the long one with the bangs came out for Miqote first, the one with the braid in the back was for Elezen first, that weird Skrillx (or whatever his name is) hair was first for Femroe..and so forth. Then after another patch they'd give the hair to everyone. Really hope they aren't doing this anymore.

Hm, my bad then. Well one can only hope that they don't do something silly like that again, the female hairstyle seems to be cross-race (or at least a different version of it) so I it may be the same for the male one... but they did only show it on on Roe so who knows.

Females already have a medium length style that looks pretty darn close to the new one we're getting. Sure, the new one is wavy and comes with removable bangs, but that doesn't change the fact it's still a very similar style.

I do remember some of the older hairstyles from that thread for posting ones that didn't get in, but to be honest all the nicer ones were fairly long and looked good due to the artist's skills. I have now learnt that unless it's an incredibly simple hairstyle we're going to get sheep fleece on our head so most of the more complex ones wouldn't work... or at least ones that aren't just a straight flow of hair (hair textures are really terrible in this game).

But hey, PS3 limitations.

I don't really think the female hairstyles look too similar to what we have now, I won't be using it regardless (probably). I know of two on the Female Miqo'te, the one with the hair band the medium length one (I don't know what people call it). Neither of those are similar to me.

Yeah I really hope not! Everyone should be able to enjoy all hairstyles as they are released.

From the wording of it...says with or without bangs and shows on elezen and au ra...think its safe to assume it'll be for all races

I don't know, here's a few from PSO2 from 2012 (scroll down a little). This was from a few years ago and they have added more. I feel like there is a lot they could do with hair tied up and done a lot of different ways still. Long hair is harder due to clipping but I'm definitely not adverse to them going for the fantastic a little more than the somewhat conservative "realistic" style they have going on (again, aside from that afro, because there is nothing realistic about that at all lol).

This list is a bit closer to full CLICKY, but is missing the most recent ones they added, as well as the Guilty Gear and Blazblue stuff. Yoshi should 'borrow' the whole list to add in-game

Also it's sad a free to play (and free to download) has better hair options than a sub game. v.v

Damn, some of those are really ugly, but I guess there's a lot of variety. Too many anime-esque hairstyles to be honest. Not a fan of most other than these two (1) (2) but it wouldn't hurt to appeal to those who like them. I wonder how long it takes to create hairstyles, FFXIV does certainly maintain a higher quality than PSO2 when it comes to visuals though and doesn't bank on selling cosmetics so the priorities aren't focused too much on hairstyles I'd imagine.
