BiS would like to say hello! There were plenty of meaningful rewards for different classes in titan ex and ifrit ex. Ilvl 90 =/= BiS.

^^^ also the weapon. Those weapons were amazing for alt classes and some classes had amazing itemization on those primal weapons.

As for the weapons, relic zeniths were a whole helluva lot easier to get and were shinier. The only remotely difficult part was getting the Titan HM win, and if you had trouble with that back then you were likely not even thinking about getting a win on EX primals yet.
That is such a bad bad bad bad outlook on gear, especially if you're way over the accuracy cap.

Bismark dropping i175 while you could get i180 from farming law and hunts was a poor move. Maybe they could've brought the 'Primal Focus' quest back exclusively for those two fights, so at least that way you'd get people running Bismark more than once.
Maybe they'll bring it back with the 3.1 primal fight being the third and have i200 weaps be a reward for a new Primal Focus. I remember that Primal Focus WAR Axe looking so badass xD

Ravana had the best weapons in the game when it came out. That's pretty relevant.

Be nice if Bismarck was good for more than glamour, though.

Every WAR I knew had to have Dual Hakken. I didn't even *like* WAR and Dual Hakken was one of the first Primal Focus weapons I got. That thing was lovely for its time.

It was only relevant for about 6-7 weeks, though (which gave enough time for Esoterics to release and to actually acquire the weapons). That's generally been the trend with the EX Primals past the original three. They might be relevant at the very beginning of a new patch (and some of them, like Ramuh and Mog, not even then), but give it six weeks or so for things to shake out and they're usually relatively mediocre in terms of rewards again. It'd be nice for them to be compelling at the very least for the entire patch they're introduced in.

Pretty much how I see it. Ravana was relevant for quite awhile but Bismarck was all but obsolete upon release.

Ravana is okay but that's mostly because they delayed Esoterics.

I prefer to call it not sweating the small stuff. It all becomes trash soon enough in a game like this anyway.

    fixed that for ya

Ex: Being about 50 points over the accuracy cap on blm during ARR is a loss of 10-12.5 intellect depending on the stats you can switch out for the accuracy. Spell speed was around 0.25 int. If you could have 50 SS over 50 excess accuracy, thats 2.5 int for every 10 accuracy you could dump. That would leave you with about a 12.5 int gain if you could replace all that acc with SS.

Considering that main stats are some of the biggest dps gains, I would hardly call 10+ int small stuff.

Hate to gang up on you, but with that outlook I wonder why you even play an MMO.

Yeah, because people in i90 gear in 2.0-2.1 were oh so terribly geared.

If you were trying to separate yourself from the hardcore elitist crowd with posts like that and the other thread you made... well, it isn't working.

Ex: Being about 50 points over the accuracy cap on blm during ARR is a loss of 10-12.5 intellect depending on the stats you can switch out for the accuracy. Spell speed was around 0.25 int. It's like you totally ignored what I just said about me not sweating the small stuff.

Because the only proper way to play an MMO to you is to be obsessed with getting the absolute best stuff?

    Duly noted.
