It's old outdated content. Welcome to MMOs. "Rare" things all generally have a shelf-life, ponies are past theirs.

WoWs Baron rivendares death charger says hello, its been in since vanilla and still retains 1% or less drop rate and that mount still to this day is rare, its nice to have rare things as it motivates people to do it since it is actual fluff content, doesn't needed to be handed on a silver platter like it does now.

Ditto on that they are ugly lol i just hate seeing things ppl work so hard to get thrown around like candy but i guess i'm alone in thinking this way :P

I got Kirin before the pony drop rate increased and before unsync was available, but I don't really mind that other people can get them easily now. It was nice at the time when people were saying 'oooh nice mount' etc but as others have said, everything has a 'shelf life.'

It would be nice for them to add something that actually stayed rare though. Something for people to work towards and know that it's never going to become common or easy to obtain. Of course I don't mind other people having the mounts but it kinda sucks that you can't differentiate who worked hard for them and who spent 10 minutes farming unsync. Maybe a limited time reward for people who completed the content before it got nerfed.

I have been seeing them all over for months. Like, half a year maybe? Maybe more? Idek. Too long. The fun of any of it turned into incredible obnoxiousness, as far as I'm concerned, long ago, for several reasons. First one being the fact that horses should be a rare sight in Eorzea, according to lore, and yet out 44 mounts, we have 13 horses (together with Unicorn and Sleipnir and Kirin) and only 8 chocobos (2 of which are only obtainable via friend recruitment, and a third one not obtainable at all; 2 of the remaining 5 are not even "normal" looking ones). Second one being the incredible copy-paste that most of these are, I mean, I understand it's easy on the devs, but come on, be at least a little bit subtle about it (most of the horses are not subtle at all). Third one being the Kirin - I mean, really, "special snowflakes" have to be buttered up even more to feel even more "special"?... And I suppose I could also mention Sleipnir and its price, but just don't feel like wasting breath on the cash shop again.

So yeah, that's how I feel. And I haven't even bothered getting any of them, still don't in fact - that's just how much the obnoxiousness ruined them for me.

I originally didn't want any because of how lazy their design was. But when they added(?) Shiva, Levi and Ramuh ponies, I fell in love, because the colors are so pretty and I always want my mount to compliment the outfit I'm wearing
Yeah, it was a lot of time and effort I spent on getting the ones I want, but in the end, how does it hurt me if others can now obtain them more easily on lvl 60 with unsync and higher droprates? They still go well with my various outfits (and I can't re-dye my chocobo that often!) and they still play pretty melodies when I ride them. Also, I know I obtained them when it was still hard, no need to show off to others that "I got it when it was still speciaaal".
If you want something really rare, do something that is (at least at this point) kind of hard to do. Looking at statistics, the recommendation chocobo is still the rarest mount by far, so go and become so awesome everyone will give their recs to you, then you'll be a special snowflake again
