Mwaha, well I doubt you're alone with that - BLM changed a lot and it seems you need pretty high stats to get part of that fluidity back.

Iirc, my stats are pretty out of wack. I definitely just dumped full i190 onto my casters without paying attention to sub stats.

These cases though, it's basically been 4-6 targets and the BLM does 300-400 DPS - much less than you would do with the old 2.5 rotation at i120. I do that much with my SCH by putting up a few DoTs and Baning it.

I was in a Fractal run a few weeks ago with a new healer who was having a ton of trouble with the first boss. We wiped quite a few times. Healer seemed like a genuinely nice, chill person who was actually trying though and I didn't really have anything else to do so I didn't mind staying. Luckily, the other two party members were also a couple of cool people so they agreed to help the healer through it as well. We eventually got past the first boss and, surprisingly, the rest of the run went off without a hitch. So....yeah, that was cool. It restored quite a bit of faith in the community for me.

...sadly, that renewed faith was quickly lost again shortly after. I don't feel like getting into it because the thought of it just makes me unreasonably angry, but let me just say that if you're not tanking and you decide to purposefully pull for the tank or attack before they establish aggro, I hate you.

Worst DF story I can remember? Stone Vigil, Tank can't hold mobs to save his soul and the healer quits, we get a new healer and he focuses the healing on me and the bard until the Tank starts hold the mobs better (or at least we was killing them faster) when we got the the second boss...then it went south hard...

Tank refused to move boss to doorway
Bard doesn't use cannons, meaning I had to
Tank is taking so much damage the healer is going nuts trying to keep him alive

...needless to say we all died painfully

These stories are great. I don't really have stories of my own that I remember off the top of my head but I do have similar experiences with many. I just happen to be ones those that has a successful DF run of 95%.

Oh wait, I remember one. The Aurum Vale. Healer comes in when everyone is loading and says, "DRK." I didn't think anything of it. I pull little by little since I know how much of a death trap that first room is and plus we had a new person. We wipe because I noticed someone aggro another group that was far away. The healer says that he forgot to "repair" his gear and asked to be kicked. One of the DPS calls him out saying he aggro another group of mobs and that he refused to continue because we have a DRK (Me) as the tank. Eventually we kicked him but I was still left in "Huh?" Mind you, I'm fully geared and using CDs but he just completely refused to continue.

Well for example in Sastasha, you have to pick whether you will use Cleric or Protect, if you are AST or SCH.
You also have to change your hotbars, because you lack upgraded skills, and have to use some you never use (like Ruin).
I also usually use my DoTs in a Macro, so I don't have them readily accessible, and when I am synced to a level before getting Bio II, then my macro does not work.
Low level dungeons are annoying as hell to DPS in as a healer...

Protect isn't noticeable in the first dungeons, so running with cleric is fine. I'm a console healer and don't have to change anything special for dpsing endgame or low level..there's plenty of room.

Not wanting to dps is fine and all, but your fairy could heal 99% of satasha.. I'd fall asleep if I didn't dps. :/

had a tank in a Sastasha low level recently who pulled one group at a time - made sense. Comp was DRK/DRG/NIN/WHM, so that was the ideal way to pull. Burning singles down since we didn't have a lot of AoE capacity.

WHM starts ****ing about not pulling enough and being 'bored' and I finally just tell 'em to DPS.

"Oh right, I could DPS"

Not really a horror story but wanted to comment.

Running the Aery as a machinist, got a bard as the second DPS, bard decided to ignore the existence of dodging, poison, the bomb itself on boss two....little while later I run another dungeon and the first thing the healer asked me was how do they remove debuffs.

Then I go into the Vault ...healer drops on first boss with 5% left this Machinist starts screaming about LBing the boss, we don't so he comes back and uses it on normal mobs because we said using it at 5% would be a waste of LB, he then continued to fight with me until after second boss, where he went into the room with the two horses and pulled them both and almost died before me as a Ninja and the tank picked up the two mobs he blindly pulled. In reply to this instead of thanking me for saving him...he started going off how I didn't goad him during the time of trying to keep him from dying for the fifth time in the dungeon, I told him to basically be happy we did help cause if I was healer I would of let him die....lol

I was gonna say "IS this me" because I leveled LNC without DRG unlocked... I may even do it through HW... who knows
(I don't use LNC for any serious gameplay, just for funsines)

Ran with two tanks in Battle in the Big Keep with ilvl 60 (Ifrit Axe) and ilvl 70 (Garuda Sword) weapons. The average ilvl for that trial is 90. Both were new, I think.

The worst part? I made a suggestion to the Warrior to upgrade the axe when he got through and his response: he mained Monk and "I just wanted to get through this."
