Healer DPS is a bonus, not a requirement, and you should be happy about healers that DPS, not frustrated with those that don't.

good point, and I dont think DPS is a requirement. I only mentioned my frustration with the example for when its obvious no one is needing healing, there was plenty of time to DPS and the healer chooses to instead run around the group in a big circle as if proclaiming his/her "look how little I have to do, I'm bored, why dont you guys go faster" attitude. If you can run laps around the party between heals, maybe throwing a few dots and a pebble would help out instaed of cardio.

BLM was my 3rd job to 60. I loved level 50 BLM 'cause it felt so fluid, but at level 60 it feels so... clunky and awkward. I did one EX Roulette on BLM and immediately went to level SMN. At least one class is getting some use out of my casting armor. >.<

Mwaha, well I doubt you're alone with that - BLM changed a lot and it seems you need pretty high stats to get part of that fluidity back. These cases though, it's basically been 4-6 targets and the BLM does 300-400 DPS - much less than you would do with the old 2.5 rotation at i120. I do that much with my SCH by putting up a few DoTs and Baning it.

A suggestion I'd like to make, just to help out. If you set up say
/ac "Ruin III"
/ac Ruin

It will attempt to use Ruin III, if it can't find it (or level synced) will cast Ruin in place, same with other skills, saves the hassle of tossing skills to and from the hotbar.

Yeah, I know this trick, and use it with Wheeling Thrust/Fang and Claw on my DRG. It's just annoying that you can't queue macros like you can skills.
I just never bothered with doing this for Ruin II/Ruin since it's a really low probability I will need it, while with DRG it's part of 90+% of rotations past 58.

Have quite a bit of stories to tell. I don't know if I'm that "lucky", but somehow I often end up in the dungeons with the weirdest people.

Yesterday:
Leveling roulette (Stone Vigil).
Message, that someone is new, and it's a bard. Tank is a DRK. Sweet, means things should go smoothly, since tank is not a newb. Im armed with aero and rocks to contribute to the fast run. First pull, Im putting some dots and notice that tanks health is going down VERY fast. Oh well, less dps then. But Im still struggling to heal the damage! I have to spam cure/cureII without even a slight break. DPS is not that great, but it's bearable. We proceed to first boss and kill it. And then tank starts pulling two groups at a time (while Im struggling to heal him through one pull, honestly). I pop everything that I have (which is not much on this lvl) and somehow we continue. One more pull, tank dies, insta ress, miraculously didn't wipe. Next pull, same situation and again, somehow we didn't wipe. Ice sprites and tank aggroes mobs in the next room accidentally and this time we wipe. I check tanks gear and its.... almost starting DRK gear. WTF?! Anyway, it's too late, we're struggling past the second boss. Coming to a last boss, BRD viewing cutscene, but who needs DPS?! He rushes headlong into the boss even tho I preliminary warned everyone to WAIT in chat tow times! So of course BRD gets locked out and three of us (including DRG as a second dps) poke the boss for an eternity. We managed to kill it without an extra dps, because this boss is a joke, but I was mad.

Amdapor (first time run). We go in with my wife as a tank and me as a healer. Wife read about the dungeon, didn't quite understand what should happen, but I said yolo and we went in. End up with two bards, one is new and one has been there but speaks french and can't really communicate in english very well so he just tells us to figure it out on the go. Anyway, everything goes fine and we love the dungeon, the theme and music. Last boss, french bard is like: fight is complicate, figure out! Well, YOLO! I see doors and marks on them and immediately figure out that they need to be opened. So through trial and error after wiping 2 times I figured out what to do with doors (French BRD, knowing the fight didn't help us, but w/e). So we go in the third time and I say in chat: I WILL OPEN DOORS. I quickly marked some doors to open, only to realize someone is wiping off my marks! (turned out it was my wife lol, she wanted to mark the doors for me too) Welp, good thing I have a good visual memory. I open one door and go to another one, while healing. Diabolos starts his cast and I open the second door...and nothing happens. French BRD just opened another door! UGHhh. Wipe again, I tell him that I WILL OPEN DOORS again. Meanwhile my wife doesn't understand what's happening (I had to explain it to her in detail after fight because she somehow wasn't getting it lol) and why I'm so mad D: We go again and the same story happens, I open door, bard opens different freaking door. At the time I honestly thought I'd punch my screen. I votekicked him but other dps didn't understand what's happening either, so the french guy stayed. My wife as a tank gave orders that only I should open the doors and we waited confirmation from a frenchman, he said okay so we went in and this time we actually did it. It wasn't a 90 minute dungeon (only 60 lol) but it was the most maddening experience I've had in this game so far Also, I dont think BRD was trolling, I think he honestly didnt understand what is going on and tried to do the dungeon, but I was still extremely mad.

And another one as a repost from the thread of "healer's nightmare" although it's not directly healer related:

Not exactly healing related but.. First time in Aetherochemical research facility. I go in say hello and inform everyone that I'm a firsttimer. No answer but w/e. Tank is very well geared PLD (190+ ilvl). He proceeds and pulls A LOT. I manage to heal and even throw some dps in process. Everything goes smooth and fast, we kill two bosses without any problems. We reach last boss and there is a story cs there for like 30 seconds or so. I proceed to watch it to see that they've engaged.... I thought that if they want to proceed without me then okay. They wipe to tons of aoe even before I finish watching the cs. after I said that it wasn't very wise to engage when healer is viewing cutscene tank goes apeshit and curses me for slowing the run... Then proceeds to kick me. I found another group and finished it without a problem, but seriously you really can't wait 1 whole minute for a person to watch story in a story driven game? :/ it's not lvl 50 msq raids with 20 minutes of cs, it's literally less than one minute. I feel guilty and afraid of being yelled at every time I watch cs really...and since I'm a healer party will definitely wipe if they engage without me... But they still do it

Garuda story. Newb bonus. SCH who uses ONLY Physick and Selene (nothing wrong with that but after 3 wipes you would think maybe Eos would be more... useful) and after asking/telling SCH to use other abilites(Adlo/Succor) and he just simply ignoring you.

Yeah. I just simply said SCH to start learning his job and left.

Oh man so many of these stories.

Doing neverreap, drg that only used the Full Thrust combo. Didn't use any buffs or debuffs, when I mentioned something about it, he ignored me.

Leveling nin, level 47 gld with no pld, said he didn't feel he should have to level cnj. He died a lot and I ended up tanking most of the run.

Leveling ast, in Satasha, newbie gld that wouldn't use flash. As pld is my main, I gave that person some advice on what to do as a lowbie gld tank to hold threat. Acknowledged my words, but then just went right back to what they were doing. Just gave up on them at that point and healed the group through it anyway.

Playing war and having countless rog/nin's that won't use goad when I ask for it.

Countless dps in general ignoring adds or other mechanics.

On a positive note:

Level drg, get in to Gubal library, healer dies on the first boss. I stay up as long as I can, but the unavoidable aoe (repel, the ice he casts) takes me down. Level 59 war solos the boss down from 70% to death by himself with bloodthirst and well timed stance dancing, it was very impressive.

BLM I ran with once had rotation of: Flare, Transpose. Repeat.

Plus with the transpose timer, he would still have to wait a ridiculous amount of time so he isn't stuck OOM. Like.. it would ironically take a bit of skill to make this abomination of a rotation work.

"Abomination Rotation" Sounds like some kind of grindcore band.

I had the worst DF run of my life yesterday.

Low roulette, Haukke Manor NM, I was levelling my paladin.

Level 35 CNJ. Brand new (green leaf) LNC and a BLM. LNC is wearing a robe, so I examine him - he was purely wearing caster gear so I said "You should check gear for Strength stats from now on, that gear is for casters". He ignores me, I shrug and keep going. LNC proceeds to run off before each pull is finished and run to engage the next lot. He later does this repeatedly when the healer randomly goes afk, despite me asking him as nicely as I know how to T_T

CNJ whines about having MP issues before the first boss, so I watch his cast bar for a bit - he's spamming Cure II. No wonder he has no mana. I tell him "You'll get a spell at 38 that will help with mana, but you might wanna use Cure a bit more if you're having mp problems". He takes my advice (!) but when the boss is over he goes "I knew that, I have a BLM at 60" (wtf). As an aside, this guy is using Fluid Aura on CD and dpsing all the time, but never in Cleric.

While all this is going on, the BLM keeps randomly stopping for 30 seconds+

Slowly working our way onwards, LNC pulling everything ahead of me then bringing it back, CNJ struggling to keep up, LNC pulling again before me as I'm waiting for healer MP ...

Second boss. LNC moves for no AOE. Attacks the non-marked target but luckily? does so little damage I can keep aggro on both bosses easily.
Final boss was a nightmare. Nobody touched the lamps except me and, eventually, the blm. Adds take forever to die.

We'd been in there 40 minutes at that point and I just wanted out T___T If I hadn't been so close to 53 I would have nope'd out of there tbh.

On last boss. Tank clearly does not know how to hold hate. I sit and wait for a little while for him to get hate before I decide to go in. Use Quelling Strikes then my opener and I still get hate during the fight. "You got to let me get hate before you come in!"
