Kinda how I felt, would love to have the option for secondary and changing the red stripes myself. Say black with white stripes....ah well![]()
Well.... you DO get to preview your dyeing before doing it.
My issue is more "I can't tell which parts won't be dyed, so I don't bother buying it." =/ I wish one could preview dyeing similar to how you can try on a piece of gear via Marketboard/Examine/ItemLink.

This. Sometimes it's easy to predict which parts of an item won't dye at all or will dye differently from the rest of it, but sometimes not so much. Would be nice to be able to preview dyes while using the 'try on' function.
Quite. Especially now when they've changed the dyeing game up a bit and made some outfits dye monochromatically (apart from SOME details, apparently) instead of just dyeing one of the 'fields'.
I definitely agree. I know LotRO in their try-on window has dropdown menues for all the equip locations (head, body, etc) where you can select which colour you want to preview the piece in -- if it's not dyeable, the dropdown is greyed out. Of course, they also have a system where you can preview several items at once, as long as you don't close the preview window between try-ons. And it's PC-only, so I can see how there'd be issues with drop-down menues for console players (or PC players using a controller instead of mouse+keyboard). So I'm not sure how feasible a similar system would be for FFXIV, but it doesn't stop me from wishing there was one ^^;
