Onion Knight And The Allagan Empire?

First time I noticed one was in the Goldsmiths guild. I was staring at it for ages thinking it was some kind of weird plant in an odd-shaped plantpot, then when I spun the camera to face infront of it I realised it had eyes.

Perhaps a sign that the puppet-master class is going to make a come-back, or maybe an attempt by S.E to gain a third mascot to go with moogles and chocobos?

Only time will tell...

I've seen people wearing Onion Knight things though, they decrease the death debuff timer don't they?

Don't have any of the stuff myself, but don't intend to go dieing any time soon either XD

So I'm guessinf the fall of their empire would be from the flood of the 6th umbral era?

Onion Helms decrease the death debuff timer, though you need to be wearing it before you die for it to get any affect (in other words it's useless for the most part)
Also, it was the bonus item for getting the Collector's Edition, which personally I would have much preferred the Garland Goggles >_>

Ah. Some Onion Knight stuff can be obtained from the faction leves though can't they? Think I read that somewhere anyways. Those probably don't give the reduced death debuff timer though. But I guess if you include the hat you could dress from head to toe as an Onion Knight to get the idea of what they looked like pre-flood.

Though travelling back in time to gain the class/job the OP mentioned would probably be easier.

That'd make sense, they have those other things too, alembics. That word never made much sense to me either.

Why not just call them potion pots and heating jars? Honestly!

Just asked in the lore thread for more info on onion knights, allagan empire and mammots though. hopefully more light can be shed on their what's and why's.

Allagan never met with Garlemand, they exist approximately 1,000 years apart. Allagan was destroyed during the 6th Umbral, so that should be linked with 12 Archons or Primal.

Yeah, the Allagan Empire existed 1000 Years ago and was destroyed during the 6th Umbral Era. Whilst the Garlean Empire was just a remote and sparsely populated nation who held little than a fraction of the Northlands just 50 years ago, until the emergence of a young Brilliant Legatus and the Technological Golden Age.

I got the helm from buying the CE and the rest I obtained through faction leves, although I'm not sure you can still get these items from faction rewards, but I think you can still obtain through other methods, not really sure
