Returning player here, want to know what Materia I need for Animus

Okay so I'm one book away from getting Stardust Rod Animus (And despite trying to get it to Zeta before the patch hits, I don't want to just use any random materia just to get the phase over with) and I want to know what Materia I need for it, I plan on focusing on Spell Speed but I am unsure what other attributes are needed for a decent BLM weapon (One that can last till at least the Vault at Zeta)

I'd max out Spell Speed and put the rest in Crit. 3.0 really buffed crit and BLM crits are stupid good. I haven't played BLM post-50 yet, though, so I could be wrong.

It isnt entirely relevant to use specific materia on zeta at this point as the weapon dmg alone will get you to where you need to be to surpass the zeta.

But to anwser your question, Spell speed, crit or det are the 3 main stats youll want.


I personally would go 2 stat and not 3. Preferably spell speed and crit, but det will still hold you out

Its 75 materia total.
Its 44 crit and i think 44 spell speed as well? Which means youll need to choose 44 to a stat and 31 to a stat.


11 materia per tier for 44 and 8 per tier for 31
